Bunny Pet therapy at Magnolia Court
A Pawsome Afternoon!
Residents at Magnolia Court had a fantastic time meeting the 5 adorable bundle of Bunny's.
This amazing experience was delivered by Performing Pets who visit us every month with healthy and happy animals for pet therapy and to spend time with residents.
At just 4 months old it was wonderful to see the rabbits so happy and at home in the laps of residents and they brought a smile to everyone’s face.
The bunny's started off his visiting in the reception cafe then headed off to the lounges before going around the home to do room visits.
It was clear for all to see that they brought a great deal of happiness, joy and emotion to all residents and staff at the home

The Scottish poet Robert Burns, is celebrated
On the evening of the 25th of January, the birthday of the Scottish poet Robert Burns, is celebrated in his honour. With Iron Bru and shortbread biscuits baked in Scotland we were truly in the Scottish spirit. Lets not forget Haggis, Neeps and Tatties, the Scottish delicacy, an acquired taste however, some of our residents really enjoyed it.
We were honoured to be joined by a talented bagpiper, John, who ‘addressed the Haggis’ and piped in the Haggis for residents to enjoy.
Our lovely Haggis was prepared by Chef Ya, and Tammie from the Life Enrichment Team marched the Haggis in with John, with pride.
Residents loved seeing a man, in a traditional Kilt, playing the bagpipes, with some, never hearing or seeing them before in real life. John also explained the intricacy of the bagpipes and gave a lovely talk about them.

Pet therapy at Magnolia.
Residents at Magnolia Court were delighted to welcome back the beautiful budgies with the team from Performing Pets Pet Therapy
We were lucky to have 5 beautiful budgies come to see us, with their colourful feathers and lots of chirpy chat!
They were a big hit with everyone, bringing back many childhood memories and conversations of our own pets.
The experience brought happiness and smiles, and was truly enjoyed by all.

Home is Where the Harp Is
We love music of all types of music here at Magnolia Court and last week was a real delight as had something to new to appreciate when Mark Levin came to visit us for an afternoon of relaxing tranquility and escapism.
It was truly wonderful to listen to some classical melodies on the harp. The angelic instrument was a treat for all and we enjoyed tunes from Strauss, Mozart, Martini, Dvorak and many others, and there were surprises too, including some more modern music.
‘The harp gives such a clear sounds and is an instrument like no other,’ said Jenita, formerly a choir singer, who stole the show with her singing and dancing.
We look forward to you visiting us again soon Mark!

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas
It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas
The festivities are in full swing here at Magnolia Court. We have had a busy month already, starting with decorating the home from top to bottom and making our own personalized decoration for the tree. We've had Christmas Carol's by local school children, Christmas Arts & Crafts, a trip to Central London to see the beautiful Christmas lights, a theatre show and many many more.
We look forward to even more celebrations and a party on New Years Eve

Hanukkah Celebrations
Hanukkah Celebrations. We began the 8 days of celebrations with a wonderful musical afternoon by Johnny Jazz who lit the first candle for us and read the Berakhah.
Last week we lit the final candle and Rabbi Yossi kindly took the time to visit us and lead the celebrations with prayers, songs and of course some delicious mouthwatering Doughnuts baked at a local Jewish bakery. It has been lovely for the residents to meet every night and switch on the Hanukkah candles while saying a blessing and joining together.
Celebrating our diversity is such an important part of making Magnolia Court feel like home, for everyone in our homes. We cherish history, family and tradition here.
