Activities at Mallard Court Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life. We provide a wide range of group activities and individual one to one activities to meet our residents needs including musical entertainers, PAT dog visits, minibus outings, themed events and much more!
We take a person centred approach when planning each individuals activities so they can achieve a feeling of self worth and well-being.
We hold monthly meetings with the residents and also regular meetings with their family and friends, discussing any ideas that they may have, and also any problems that their may have. Both of our activities coordinators, Steve and Lynne, have completed NAPA Activity Workers Level 2 Award training, and are continually seeking new ideas so we can ensure life in the home is as varied and interesting as possible. We encourage strong community links with the local schools, colleges and local charities in the community. Steve is supported also by his dogs, Tia, Pebbles and Oscar who give great pleasure to the residents in our home, and can often be seen either on a persons lap or being taken for a walk around the home. Many of the visitors that come into Mallard Court commented that it is so friendly and welcoming.

Hi, my name is Steve, and I have been a Lifestyle Coordinator at Mallard Court since 2006, and have achieved the NAPA (National Association of Activity Providers) Level 2 Award in Activity Provision in the Care Sector.
We provide a wide range of activities for the people we support, as well as for their families and friends. I also love to have one-to-one chats with residents who like to reminisce about their lives over a cup of tea and some biscuits.
We have our own minibus and have fun days out sight-seeing, having a picnic or going a local pub for a drink and a meal. We also arrange for local artists to provide musical entertainment for everyone at Mallard Court.

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Mallard Court Care Home
Musical Moments
Mallard Court residents, family and staff enjoy a variety of live musical entertainment every month. We have the pleasure of a 20 members of the “Ukes of Hazzard” entertaining us with a musical extravaganza!
They performed a variety of popular traditional tunes for our enjoyment. We had Harper John Dalton playing the wonderful Harp which was so romantic and a sensory delight.
Folk group “Black Dog Dave and the Strays” were an absolute treat singing a variety of traditional songs from all over the UK
I can samba!
Mallard Court residents, family and staff enjoyed a Samba music session, with “I Can Samba.” Phil the music teacher brought us a variety of Samba musical instruments to experiment with and had a fun morning playing them and experiencing the different sounds they make.
We have booked another 6 sessions and we will be recording our final musical ensemble!
Celebrating Cadbury's
Residents across our services had a wonderful time joining Cadbury for an interactive virtual talk on their fascinating 200-year history.
Residents joining learnt interesting facts about the chocolate giant, shared memories, and reminisced about their favourite sweet treats.
It was a heartwarming experience filled with laughter, nostalgia, and plenty of chocolatey goodness!
National Healthy Eating Week
Here at Mallard Court we celebrated National Healthy Eating week, with a variety of healthy recipes prepared by our very own Chefs. The delicious Fruit Kebabs were very well received as you can imagine by our residents, their families and friends. Health and Nutrition is a very important, and our dedicated Chefs always take this into consideration, when preparing our delicious menus.
Mini bus outing
We love our trips out on the Mallard Court Mini Bus together to enjoy the beautiful panoramic scenery in the local area of Bridlington. We live in a vert tourist area and visitors come from all over Britain to enjoy our town. There are so many views on our doorstep in Bridlington, and we are blessed with delicious Ice-cream parlours, scrumptious Fish & Chip shops, Cafes and Restaurant Bars.
Birthday Celebrations!
Here at Mallard Court our handsome resident Roy Hunt celebrated his 90th birthday with family, friends and staff. Roy commented; “ I have had a fabulous day and wish to thank everyone for the lovely presents and birthday cards” It was Grand National Day too and there was a party atmosphere, with a bit of fancy dress and a fun Sweepstake for everyone to enjoy.
