Activities at Mallard Court Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life. We provide a wide range of group activities and individual one to one activities to meet our residents needs including musical entertainers, PAT dog visits, minibus outings, themed events and much more!
We take a person centred approach when planning each individuals activities so they can achieve a feeling of self worth and well-being.
We hold monthly meetings with the residents and also regular meetings with their family and friends, discussing any ideas that they may have, and also any problems that their may have. Both of our activities coordinators, Steve and Lynne, have completed NAPA Activity Workers Level 2 Award training, and are continually seeking new ideas so we can ensure life in the home is as varied and interesting as possible. We encourage strong community links with the local schools, colleges and local charities in the community. Steve is supported also by his dogs, Tia, Pebbles and Oscar who give great pleasure to the residents in our home, and can often be seen either on a persons lap or being taken for a walk around the home. Many of the visitors that come into Mallard Court commented that it is so friendly and welcoming.

Steve Moss
Hi, my name is Steve, and I have been a Lifestyle Coordinator at Mallard Court since 2006, and have achieved the NAPA (National Association of Activity Providers) Level 2 Award in Activity Provision in the Care Sector.
We provide a wide range of activities for the people we support, as well as for their families and friends. I also love to have one-to-one chats with residents who like to reminisce about their lives over a cup of tea and some biscuits.
We have our own minibus and have fun days out sight-seeing, having a picnic or going a local pub for a drink and a meal. We also arrange for local artists to provide musical entertainment for everyone at Mallard Court.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Mallard Court Care Home

Pirates and Parrots
The home was full of animal mischief and swashbuckling fun as we welcomed some very special feathery guests courtesy of ‘Parrots and Pirates’
Residents at Mallard Court were pleasantly surprised to see their new feathered friends awaiting them in our homes lounge area against a pirate themed backdrop!
Inca, Mishka and Aurora. Three beautiful parrots were on hand to happily meet and greet our residents and enjoyed receiving bird treats from them.

Namaste Experience
Our residents had a delightful time together as we transformed our lounge into a tranquil namaste room.
They relished a sensory experience that was soothing yet revitalizing. The ambient lights and sounds contributed to a serene atmosphere that engaged their senses, bringing them peace and happiness.
Seeing our residents content and at ease in our sensory space was truly heart-warming.

A visit from Oscar
We were thrilled with a surprise visit at our residence!
Our beloved furry companion, Oscar, made an unexpected appearance, and he's absolutely adorable.
For over 13 years, Oscar has been a regular visitor at Mallard Court, spreading happiness among our residents, guests, and team members. Oscar is a rescue dog who was once left deserted in Leeds as a young puppy. It was a joy to see you, Oscar; we're already looking forward to your next visit!

Coffee & Cake Concert
Residents, colleagues, and local community members enjoyed a splendid afternoon of live music entertainment.
The event took place at the Bridlington Community Hub during the "Coffee & Cake Concert." We had the pleasure of being entertained by Claire Louise, an exceptionally talented professional singer from the North East.
We are grateful for the special invitation and were thoroughly impressed by Claire Louise's vocal abilities.

Virtual afternoon at the theatre
Residents across our services had a fantastic time enjoying the virtual screening of Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em. Frank Spencer’s comical misadventures had everyone laughing and it was wonderful to see so many happy faces.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and a special thanks to The Barn Theatre in the Cotswolds for bringing this stage adaptation of the beloved sitcom to our screens.

Grandparents Day
Lots of residents received special visits from their grandchildren and great grandchildren as the home began its build up to celebrate Grandparents’ Day on Sunday 6th October.
Residents, relatives and grandparents came together at the homes Flamingo Bar as they celebrated and looked at old photos and reminisced about stories from their childhood when they spent time with their own grandparents, and spoke fondly about their grandchildren.
Residents enjoyed an afternoon of fizz and snacks with their families, all prepared by the chefs at the home which went down a treat.
