Activities at Maple Leaf Lodge Care Home

We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Courtney Doncaster

Activities Coordinator

My name is Courtney and I am proud to be the Activities Coordinator for Maple Leaf Lodge.

I have worked at Maple Leaf since 2020 and I started as a night carer before taking the opportunity  to lead the activities team. My team and I ensure that the residents enjoy a range of fun and varied activities from outings and external performers to animal therapy and gardening.

We are always open to new ideas so please join us for a chat at any time.

Activities and Events Partnerships

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

International Flower Day

Some of our resident have been meeting their creative needs with flower arranging to display around the home. We were also joined by Pixie, who will be joining us for the next few months to complete her Duke of Edinburgh award

Happy Birthday Elvis

What better way to celebrate the King of rock and rolls 90th birthday then with a rock and roll party with entertainment from the wonderful Nick Glover.

We sang along to Elvis songs and got our blue suede shoes tapping away. Everyone was up singing and dancing away to each song, filling the room with joy and laughter. Resident Rex told us how Elvis was one of his favourite singers and it showed as he sang along to each song word for word.
