Activities at Middletown Grange Care Home

We aim to provide a variety of activities that will both mentally and physically stimulate the people we support. Residents have a range of different needs and interests, and it is crucial that these are reflected in the activities available, so that each individual is able to participate to the best of their ability. We organise both group and individual social events that everyone is welcome to take part in; there is a weekly outing to local places of interest, including the garden centre and the local farms, parks and museums. In addition, we enjoy regular visits from entertainers and even exotic animals. We also host events such as 'Beach Day' that relatives and friends are encouraged to participate in. Getting involved in charities is a big part of our ethos, so events such as 'PJs for Pudsey' and pirate-themed days are regularly hosted to raise money for different foundations, including the Alzheimer’s Society.

Always a Voice In a Million

Our residents have been delighted again with another performance from the wonderful Fiona Harrison - A Voice in a Million.

Fiona Harrison is a vintage vocalist, specialising in music from the 1880s to the 1970s. Her shows take our residents back to dancehall times, dressed in her vintage outfits singing songs from Big Band and Swing, to sing-along Rock and Roll.

Our residents had a marvellous time. Thank you Fiona for bringing such joy to the residents of Middletown Grange

Amazing Floral Displays

The Middletown activities team work hard to ensure our life enrichment program offers inclusivity and a sense of purpose.

Handling the various florals during our weekly flower arranging session is a full sensory experience, that fills hearts and minds with fragrance and happy memories, all of which help relieve anxiety.

The group really immersed themselves in the process; selecting by colour, shape and texture to create truly beautiful displays. We thank everyone for their participation, our communal areas look and smell amazing!

The 'Saxman' Entertains

It was wonderful to invite 'Mr Alan Hook' the amazing Saxophone player back into our home to entertain our residents, his sing-a-long tunes always hit the right notes.

ABBAlutely fantastic pantomime

Thankfully the weather kept fine, and the storm clouds passed on Wednesday for our residents outdoor performance from the tickled pink team with the ‘ABBAlutely fantastic pantomime’

The performers arrived dressed in their glitzy sequinned costumes, and sang songs from ABBA and the top 70s hits! Everyone enjoyed the performance; singing and dancing along from start to finish.

The day was made extra special for several of our residents, with their visiting family members arriving just as the show began.

Independence Day

After a busy morning of looking back on America's history surrounding the 4th of July, we too took time to celebrate. Some of our ladies had an afternoon of cupcake decorating, before enjoying one with a nice cup of tea. We think they look great and tasted yummy too!
