Activities at Middletown Grange Care Home

We aim to provide a variety of activities that will both mentally and physically stimulate the people we support. Residents have a range of different needs and interests, and it is crucial that these are reflected in the activities available, so that each individual is able to participate to the best of their ability. We organise both group and individual social events that everyone is welcome to take part in; there is a weekly outing to local places of interest, including the garden centre and the local farms, parks and museums. In addition, we enjoy regular visits from entertainers and even exotic animals. We also host events such as 'Beach Day' that relatives and friends are encouraged to participate in. Getting involved in charities is a big part of our ethos, so events such as 'PJs for Pudsey' and pirate-themed days are regularly hosted to raise money for different foundations, including the Alzheimer’s Society.

Virtual Dog Show

Our residents here at Middletown Grange really enjoyed judging for our virtual dog show. We had so many wonderful pictures entered and it was a really difficult decision for us all. We enjoyed some doggy bingo and short quizzes over refreshments. There were lots of prizes and certificates were won!

Middletown Hairdressing

Residents have really enjoyed having their hair done by one of our lovely members of our team. At Middletown Grange, we love to have a whole home approach, which means that all members of staff will join in with helping to provide activities that will stimulate our residents

Village Scarecrow Competition

The residents at Middletown Grange really enjoyed participating in the Hailey Village Scarecrow Competition. 'Celebrities' was the theme this year; we chose to make Marilyn Monroe.

Carers Week

In celebration of Carers Week, our wonderful carers were treated to a socially distanced staff party. We enjoyed a buffet, complete with curry, cakes and alcohol-free prosecco.

Time in the Garden

Residents at Middletown Grange always enjoy getting out into the garden for some fresh air. We are blessed with lovely grounds, which are kept beautifully by the residents and staff. We have been playing lots of games in the garden recently whilst enjoying ice lollies and homemade strawberry milkshakes.

Smile Board

Our lovely smile board is really cheering us all up. We have received letters, pictures and cards from the local community. They mean so much to our residents and staff. Thank you.
