Activities at Middletown Grange Care Home
We aim to provide a variety of activities that will both mentally and physically stimulate the people we support. Residents have a range of different needs and interests, and it is crucial that these are reflected in the activities available, so that each individual is able to participate to the best of their ability. We organise both group and individual social events that everyone is welcome to take part in; there is a weekly outing to local places of interest, including the garden centre and the local farms, parks and museums. In addition, we enjoy regular visits from entertainers and even exotic animals. We also host events such as 'Beach Day' that relatives and friends are encouraged to participate in. Getting involved in charities is a big part of our ethos, so events such as 'PJs for Pudsey' and pirate-themed days are regularly hosted to raise money for different foundations, including the Alzheimer’s Society.

Life at Middletown Grange Care Home
Supply Shopping
Residents enjoyed some shopping in Whitney to get their monthly supplies from Waitrose and Superdrug before stopping for a coffee.
Our Brand New Look
On Friday 25th May, we celebrated our newly refurbished elderly frail unit and we are proud of our achievement. We invited Witney’s Mayor, Brenda Churchill and Local MP, Robert Courts, to open the event and she, along with her husband and residents of the home, enjoyed a live show from Elvis.
The day was also to recognise some fantastic community support we receive in the form of Monica and Elpie two members of the team who arrange coffee mornings, village lunches and other events, and always involve Middletown Grange with an open invitation.
Royal Wedding Celebrations
We hosted our very own stag and hen party in recognition of the royal wedding. It was so nice to see members of the royal family attend themselves. There were drinks, games, a royal quiz and much more!
Open Day
We hosted a vintage tea party for our recent open day and were also joined by a singer, who residents were delighted to see perform.
Easter Celebrations
We have had an amazing Easter at Middletown Grange. Residents gathered round to watch the first egg hatch, even holding the eggs and listening to the little cheeps inside.
Well done to our Head Nurse, who guessed correctly which egg would hatch first. Residents, staff and loved ones are finding this whole experience exciting and uplifting; a single chick hatching causes a ripple of positive discussion that spreads around the home.
Our Newest Volunteer
Harley is our newest volunteer; she is 1 year old and has been visiting care homes since she was only 12 weeks old.
She is happy to be cuddled, taken for a walk, petted and more. One resident mentioned that she really misses her old dogs and that seeing Harley really cheered her up.
There are lots of benefits from pet therapy, including self-esteem boosts and improvements to physical and mental well-being.
So far, Harley has brought nothing but joy and happiness to the home.
