Activities at Moors Manor Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Jo Henderson
Hi, my name is Jo Henderson and I am the Activities Coordinator here at Moors Manor.
I am looking forward to bringing my creative side to the home as I was previously a florist and baker and look forward to us making lots of lovely treats for us all to enjoy.
When at home Jo is a mother to two wonderful daughters and also a pet mum to labrador Marley.
I cannot wait to welcome our residents into their wonderful new home and help to bring smiles, joy and laughter to each day.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Moors Manor Care Home

Christmas Fete
Staff, residents, relatives and the local community came together at the home to enjoy our wonderful Christmas Fete.
There were all kinds of stalls on offer manned by staff, and lots of local stall holders came along to sell their wares too. There were delicious cakes, lovely craft items, skincare and Christmas Cards the list goes on! We also had wonderful entertainment from Nigel Revill - Lone Reveller Music who performed many of the Christmas Classics.
The team would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who either manned a stall, donated a raffle prize or who came along to support the home. There was a fantastic atmosphere and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

The Ashley Bells perform in the home
We love it when we have local choirs come to the home and this week we had the 'Ashley Belles' from the local Women's Institute who performed a selection of songs and carols which had everyone singing along. The Ashley Belles have performed in the home many times and we love having them come in and we look forward to them coming in again in the New Year.

Baking club making peppermint creams
Residents enjoyed making peppermint creams but with a festive look for them for our baking club this week. Lots of concentration took place to get the polar bear faces looking just right. Later in the day residents then enjoyed these with a cup of tea/coffee.

Christmas Love to Move session
We had Katie from Love to Move Dorset for her Christmas session with the residents. Katie had everyone getting their hand eye coordination, thinking caps and also gentle exercise but with the added enjoyment of doing all these things to some great Christmas songs which then had everyone singing along as well. We love having Katie come to the home and look forward to her coming back in the New Year to get us all moving again.

Elf Day
Staff and residents came together in festive attire, to celebrate Elf Day. This initiative, launched by Alzheimer's Society and drawing its essence from the North Pole, aims to bring holiday cheer while passionately supporting the quest for a cure for dementia.
We truly embraced the spirit of the season as we 'elfed' around, spreading happiness and hope to everyone.

Simon Woodley performs in the home
We had the very talented Simon come to the home to perform a selection of Christmas carols and songs for everyone to enjoy. At times you could hear a pin drop as everyone was just listening to the piano being played so beautifully. We captured a lovely photo of Barry with his daughter who were able to share the moment together.
