Activities at Moors Manor Care Home

Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Jo Henderson

Hi, my name is Jo Henderson and I am the Activities Coordinator here at Moors Manor.

I am looking forward to bringing my creative side to the home as I was previously a florist and baker and look forward to us making lots of lovely treats for us all to enjoy.

When at home Jo is a mother to two wonderful daughters and also a pet mum to labrador Marley.

I cannot wait to welcome our residents into their wonderful new home and help to bring smiles, joy and laughter to each day.

Masie's 97th Birthday

We have had more celebrations here in the home this time to celebrate Maisie's 97th Birthday. We had a party with music from Nigel Reville who sang a variety of songs for everyone to enjoy and also had a beautiful lemon cake made by the dining team which everyone thoroughly enjoyed.

Happy Birthday Maisie from everyone here at Moors Manor.

Moors Manor 3rd Anniversary

Well we certainly know how to put on a party here at Moors Manor. We celebrated the homes 3rd Anniversary and what a wonderful time it has been for the home.

The home was full to the brim with residents, their families and members of the community who all came along to help us celebrate. We had entertainment from Mike Sidaway and Steve Linney who had everyone singing and dancing. The dining team served a wonderful cream tea with prosecco which went down very well for everyone too.

Here is to many more happy years at Moors Manor.

Valentines Day

We had a wonderful day celebrating Valentine's here in the home. We started off with residents making their own cards to be delivered to their loved ones and then had a wonderful afternoon with singer Angus who played a selection of love songs that had residents singing and dancing along too. All if this was enjoyed with a glass of wine and homemade cupcakes from the dining team.

Happy Valentine's Day to you all.

Pancake Day

We enjoyed celebrating pancake day in the home with residents starting the fun with by a little competition of how many pancakes you can flip. Our winner was Veena who was able to flip the most and as you can see in the photos there was a lot of concentration taking place.

Residents then all got to do the best thing with pancakes and that is to enjoy them with lots of different toppings to choose from. Residents favourite was the classic lemon and sugar which you really can't go wrong with.

A very fun day had by everyone.

Minibus outing to Haskins

Residents love to go out in the minibus and when asked where they would like to go it was a very quick reply to the local garden centre Haskins to look at the beautiful spring bulbs that are growing and then finish off the trip with a cup of tea and cake.

A lovely trip had by all and we will see where the next outing takes us.

Yoga with Rosemary

We really do encourage residents to lead an activity session that they would like to do in the home. Rosemary is staying with us for a respite stay and regularly at home will do yoga to help with her wellbeing and health so when Rosemary asked could she do a yoga session we were more than happy to let her do this.

Residents enjoyed doing the yoga session to help with her breathing, stretching and movements. Rosemary is going back home but will continue to come into the hometo run these sessions for our residents to enjoy.
