Activities at Moors Manor Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Jo Henderson
Hi, my name is Jo Henderson and I am the Activities Coordinator here at Moors Manor.
I am looking forward to bringing my creative side to the home as I was previously a florist and baker and look forward to us making lots of lovely treats for us all to enjoy.
When at home Jo is a mother to two wonderful daughters and also a pet mum to labrador Marley.
I cannot wait to welcome our residents into their wonderful new home and help to bring smiles, joy and laughter to each day.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Moors Manor Care Home

Sing with Sue
We had a new entertainer come to the home recently "Sing with Sue"
Our residents were able to sing along to all of Sue's songs as she provided song books with the words, which residents really liked and enjoyed. Some of the songs they were able to sing along too were "Daisy Daisy", The sound of Music Medley and a Vera Lynn Medley among other residents favourites.
Everyone really enjoyed themselves and look forward to Sue coming back again soon.

Art club.
Residents have enjoyed art class this week with painting their own pictures and clay ornaments. Everyone was able to be creative and you can see in some of the details to attention was very impressive too. Our weekly groups are also a great way for residents to socialise with one another and continue to make friends.

Wellness session
We welcomed Peaceful Pathways Dorset - Jane Scanlan to the home for an introductory session on sound healing and guided self-massage. Residents were able to play the instruments to then feel the vibrations and learnt some hand massage techniques to help with their joints.
It was a very relaxing session and residents are looking forward to Jane coming in again soon.

Baking club - Apple Pies
When residents were asked what they would like to do in Baking Club they decided apple pie, so of course what did we decide to then do in Baking Club this week apple pie. Residents were busy peeling and chopping the apples. Making the pastry rolling it out and then putting the apple filling for the pie. Residents then were able to enjoy the apple pie at supper and all thoroughly enjoyed it.

Minibus outing to Ringwood
Residents enjoyed a wonderful afternoon going to Ringwood where they went too St Peter's & St Paul's Church, looked around the shops on the High Street and then finished with a hot chocolate and toasted tea cake. Jo our Activities Coordinator said that members of the public were so friendly to our residents, many stopped to say and hello and talk.

Indoor rounders game
Residents enjoyed a game of indoor rounders where they all got to enjoy the game and lots of laughter too as the ball would be flying around. These group games are a great way for our residents to have fun and also have a great chat with one another too. We look forward to the warmer weather where we can take this game outdoors.
