Activities at Moors Manor Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Jo Henderson
Hi, my name is Jo Henderson and I am the Activities Coordinator here at Moors Manor.
I am looking forward to bringing my creative side to the home as I was previously a florist and baker and look forward to us making lots of lovely treats for us all to enjoy.
When at home Jo is a mother to two wonderful daughters and also a pet mum to labrador Marley.
I cannot wait to welcome our residents into their wonderful new home and help to bring smiles, joy and laughter to each day.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

All Saints Church Service
We had All Saints St Leonard's and St Ives Church come in to the home to hold a church service especially for our residents. Religion is very important to our residents so to be able to have Rev Ruth come in and offer this means so much to them. After the service Rev Ruth had time to speak with the residents and we look forward to her coming in again very soon.

Art club.
Residents enjoyed art club this week with doing something a little bit different. We did paper mache and autumn scratch art. The ladies enjoyed getting their hands a bit messy to create the paper mache, many said they hadn't done this for many years so was nice to be able to do it again. The autumn scratch designs the ladies said was very therapeutic and it was nice to see the final design. Residents enjoy being creative so we always like to try new things to do with them.

Remembrance preparation's in the home.
Next month it is Remembrance Day and residents spent the afternoon making poppies for us to do a very large display to mark our respect. Whilst making the poppies it then started to trigger memories for the residents of their families and parents who went to war and what it was like to live in the war as a young child.
Residents in the home will be attending local events around Remembrance Day which they have asked to be a part of which we are here to make sure they do.

Knitting Club
Our knitting club have enjoyed meeting in the lounge to start creating some lovely items for the ladies to give to loved ones. What was lovely was the chatting between each other all sharing their memories of knitting with their families. We finished the morning with Marjorie playing the piano and residents singing along to the songs. A really enjoyable morning had by everyone.

Gardening club
With the weather not being quite as sunny we decided to bring our garden club indoors. Residents started to plant up the spring bulbs tulips, daffodils, crocus and alliums. We put these containers on the balcony in memory lane and look forward to them growing into the beautiful flowers.
