Activities at Moreton Hill Care Home
Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Life at Moreton Hill Care Home
Food from the 1920s
Residents enjoyed watching Trooping the Colour over the weekend. To celebrate the Queen's Birthday our Head Chef, Stuart devised a menu comprising of foods from 95 years ago. You will see from the menu there are several items that are still popular today. The residents relished the opportunity to try this traditional fayre. We ended the meal with sherry glasses being charged to toast the Queen and her good health, then singing the National Anthem. It was a relaxing day, unlike the Queens very busy weekend!

Thanking Moreton Hill Carers
It is Carers Week and Barchester's Moreton Hill wanted to treat their fabulous carers with a surprise at their meeting. Daney wheeled in a wonderful range of sweet and savory treats along with iced drinks. Moria, Resident Ambassador spoke on behalf of the residents paying tribute to all the staff for their dedication and hard work. We cannot thank our carers enough for all they do and there is another trolley waiting for the night team when they come in later.
Parliamo Italiano
Italian Day was certainly a busy day! It began with creating pizzas with a variety of toppings. Lunch was superb with our chef prepared Insalata Tricolore, cooking the residents' pizzas followed by tiramisu. The afternoon was full of choice with a range of activities - Jackie held a Parliamo Italiano class, along with some fascinating facts about Italy while Lorna and Eddie took some of the residents out to Saul Junction for an ice cream. Everyone slept very well and thoroughly enjoyed such an interesting and fun day.
Happy Fish and Chip Day!
Moreton Hill have celebrated in style; with the glorious sunshine all the residents sat outside and enjoyed this British traditional dish the best way - straight out of the wrapper with lots of salt and vinegar.
Bring out the Bunting
We are all hoping later this month to be putting up the bunting and raising a glass; in preparation our residents are making their own bunting. Mari and Nancy led our sewing team and we are delighted with the end results. Wonderful to have such talent in our home here is to future celebrations.
