Activities at Moreton Hill Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Knit and Natter

Our ladies had a wonderful time at "knit and Natter". There was plenty of productive knitting including making the sweetest mouse. There is never a shortage of natter, it is a pleasure to watch such a sociable afternoon.

Happy Birthday Iris

Happy Birthday Iris, what a perfect day for getting out and about for a celebratory ice cream. A big thank you to Jackie and Lorna, our Activities Team, who are giving the residents such a great variety of trips. Today's trip to Wholly Gelato was a big hit, all made on the farm in Elmore, from the cows grazing in their fields.

National Beer Day!

It's National Beer Day! Residents were treated to a selection of local beers to try and as we are in the West Country we added some local ciders too! We also were able to display the bunting that residents recently sewed, it looks fantastic. Stuart, our chef made a selection of pub snacks and pickled eggs have become the Marmite of Moreton Hill! A wonderful afternoon enjoying the sun in our stunning courtyard, enjoying the range of beverages.

Food from the 1920s

Residents enjoyed watching Trooping the Colour over the weekend. To celebrate the Queen's Birthday our Head Chef, Stuart devised a menu comprising of foods from 95 years ago. You will see from the menu there are several items that are still popular today. The residents relished the opportunity to try this traditional fayre. We ended the meal with sherry glasses being charged to toast the Queen and her good health, then singing the National Anthem. It was a relaxing day, unlike the Queens very busy weekend!

Thanking Moreton Hill Carers

It is Carers Week and Barchester's Moreton Hill wanted to treat their fabulous carers with a surprise at their meeting. Daney wheeled in a wonderful range of sweet and savory treats along with iced drinks. Moria, Resident Ambassador spoke on behalf of the residents paying tribute to all the staff for their dedication and hard work. We cannot thank our carers enough for all they do and there is another trolley waiting for the night team when they come in later.
