Activities at Mount House and Severn View
Our Activities team is a dedicated group whom strive to ensure that the residents of Mount House have a broad range of meaningful activities daily which reflect the needs, wants and interests of all our residents. From our larger events including Garden Parties in our spectacular grounds to birthday celebrations with live musical entertainment we always have a broad range of events to suit all of our wonderful residents. We also go on a number of outings throughout the year in and around Shropshire, many of which are linked to community organisations whom cater specifically for interests of the people we support.
Something we have always been passionate about here at The Mount is Music therapy and we offer a diverse musical programme of live music and entertainers throughout the year to suit all tastes. Food theme days and tasting afternoons, as well as regular Cookery classes and chair yoga are on offer as well as beauty therapy and massage.
We aim to consistently provide a high quality activities programme for all of our residents and ensure that regardless of limitations and circumstances each individual has the best possible experience within our home, through both a physical and mentally stimulating person-centred approach.
Joyce Morgan
Hello I am Joyce the Activities Coordinator. I am new to the care sector having worked as a florist with my own business and I am loving this change of direction. I am committed to ensuring the residents have a varied activities programme as well celebrating events. I am following the Barchester Life Enrichment Programme of working with mind, body and soul. I do also love to dance with the residents when we have an entertainer in!

Life at Mount House and Severn View
Community Gifting and Activity Sharing
On Friday afternoon we took a walk around Shrewsbury as Chef, and the hospitality team had been busy baking a selection of homemade shortbread biscuits for the good people of Shrewsbury to enjoy.
Starting at Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin we met with Angela and her colleagues to learn all about the services and support the team and community hub in Bellstone has to offer individuals across the region.
As we continued to hand our sweet treats to members of the public we popped into Sense Shrewsbury and Helping Hands Home Care both located on Mardol.
It was wonderful to have the opportunity to find out more about their individual services and tell them all about the 'Free to Attend' activities and events open to anyone who wishes to make new friends.
At Mount House & Severn View are activities and events are all designed to combat loneliness, our home offers a warm welcoming space to all visitors. The ‘home on The Mount’ hopes to see you soon.
Skipping and Shaker Making
Our residents love having their weekly visits from the young children of 'Little Explorers'. Today some children from Willow had lots of fun with the staff and residents making shakers to use during our rhyme time.
The children and residents enjoy our threading resources and stick stickers around shapes. The staff kindly brought out a skipping rope for the children and residents to have fun with !

Love is in the air - Happy Anniversary
We had the honour of celebrating a very special '63rd Wedding Anniversary' with Mr & Mrs W at Mount House. They enjoyed a romantic dining experience for two with a complimentary bottle of fizz to raise a toast to one another.
As the happy couple dined, reminiscing on their wedding day and the wonderful life they have shared together. Mrs W commented on how surprised she was her husband actually remembered!
Ukulele band Delights
To celebrate World Music Day that took place on 21st June 2023 the residents and staff at Mount House were treated to an afternoon performance from ‘The BAFfTUBs’ a local Ukulele band.
As there cheerful tunes drifted over the garden and in through the open windows and doors where residents were keeping cool from the heat of the sun we all had a smile on our faces.
We look forward to your next visit.
Happy Birthday 'Josie'
The beautiful 'Josie' had a wonderful birthday earlier this month, firstly woken by the Mount Care team with a 'pretty in pink' floral gift and card before attending a surprise birthday party in our Orchard Lounge with friends and four generations of her family!
We all hope you had a super birthday Josie, and enjoyed the fresh strawberries and cream cake courtesy of Chef Charlotte and buffet lunch served by the home hospitality team.
