Activities at Mount House and Severn View

Our Activities team is a dedicated group whom strive to ensure that the residents of Mount House have a broad range of meaningful activities daily which reflect the needs, wants and interests of all our residents. From our larger events including Garden Parties in our spectacular grounds to birthday celebrations with live musical entertainment we always have a broad range of events to suit all of our wonderful residents. We also go on a number of outings throughout the year in and around Shropshire, many of which are linked to community organisations whom cater specifically for interests of the people we support.

Something we have always been passionate about here at The Mount is Music therapy and we offer a diverse musical programme of live music and entertainers throughout the year to suit all tastes. Food theme days and tasting afternoons, as well as regular Cookery classes and chair yoga are on offer as well as beauty therapy and massage.
We aim to consistently provide a high quality activities programme for all of our residents and ensure that regardless of limitations and circumstances each individual has the best possible experience within our home, through both a physical and mentally stimulating person-centred approach.

Sensational Songs with Debbie

Who knew our senior 'Dan Ashley' had the voice of an angel! Our residents were enthralled to hear his rendition of 'You'll Never Walk Alone' as he supported professional singer the fabulous Debbie Miles. It was then onto some carnival vibes as our Activities Coordinator Joyce entertained the crown alongside Debbie shaking her stuff to the Rivers of Babylon by Boney M.

Local Community Kindness

Our residents and staff would like to say a massive thank you to Shrewsbury Morrisons Community Champion Vicky hughes who kindly donated bunches of flowers this morning for our residents to brighten there day . We all at mount house were taken back by Vickys generosity .

We also had a little help from a young gentleman called Ryan who kindly spent his morning delivering the flowers out to our residents and staff . Ryan also helped our residents Helen and Sheila to make fresh flower centerpieces for our tables.

This afternoon we enjoyed movement to music were we had a dance and sing along wich was enjoyed by all . We ended the day with a game of snakes and ladders and a hot cup of tea.

Spring Blooms

Spring has sprung in the Mount House & Severn View gardens. We took our Easter Flower Club outside to appreciate the blooms and burst of sunshine. Residents; Joyce, Marjorie and Sheila all said it was just what they needed. Getting out in the spring sun and fresh air is good for everyone’s continued wellbeing.

We're looking forward to planting blubs and creating some sensory areas and even a vegetable patch or two this year. Do you love to garden and can you spare any time to support? Please contact the activities team on MountHouse.Activities@barchester.com we love to hear from new volunteers.
