Activities at Mount House and Severn View

Our Activities team is a dedicated group whom strive to ensure that the residents of Mount House have a broad range of meaningful activities daily which reflect the needs, wants and interests of all our residents. From our larger events including Garden Parties in our spectacular grounds to birthday celebrations with live musical entertainment we always have a broad range of events to suit all of our wonderful residents. We also go on a number of outings throughout the year in and around Shropshire, many of which are linked to community organisations whom cater specifically for interests of the people we support.

Something we have always been passionate about here at The Mount is Music therapy and we offer a diverse musical programme of live music and entertainers throughout the year to suit all tastes. Food theme days and tasting afternoons, as well as regular Cookery classes and chair yoga are on offer as well as beauty therapy and massage.
We aim to consistently provide a high quality activities programme for all of our residents and ensure that regardless of limitations and circumstances each individual has the best possible experience within our home, through both a physical and mentally stimulating person-centred approach.

Easter Bunny Wreath

A group of Mount House and Severn View residents were very industrious today having a great time creating our Easter Wreath. Our new Head Chef, Charlotte kindly came in her day off to spend time with residents making the bunny wreath. There was egg painting, bow creating and flower weaving. The conversation turned to favourite cake flavours, lemon came out top! With all that talk about cake everyone was fancying something and Barry's timing couldn't have been better offering the ladies tea and cake!

The wreath looks amazing and resident Helen was keen to place it on the front door.

The afternoon continued with a special visit from Leo, an absolutely gorgeous German Shepherd whose owner Rachel is also part of the hospitality team. Thank you to Rachel and her daughter for taking the time to bring Leo in to see the residents. What a lovely afternoon.

Happy 99th Birthday May

It is not every day you turn 99 and the Mount House and Severn View team pulled out all stops to make it a day to remember for resident May.

May is fabulous for 99, not just looking at least twenty years younger, a former nurse and midwife she has been there for others throughout her life and we were delighted to make today special for May. Family joined May and the residents for lunch, followed by presenting a cake made by the hospitality team. The party atmosphere continued into the afternoon as we surprised May with her favourite singer Debbie. Debbie, the residents and team sang Happy Birthday to May not just once but twice! Debbie sang favourite songs including Que Sera Sera, Dancing Queen and Is This the Way to Amerillo saw many dancing, leading onto a conga!

Trip to The Barn Pub

Residents and their families had a fantastic time at the local pub.  The team walked down to the local and residents enjoyed drinks as we all selected tunes from the juke box and we all had a good sing song.  Such a fun and enjoyable afternoon we plan to be regulars!
