Activities at Mulberry Court Care Home

The team at Mulberry Court works hard to support and encourage residents to participate in both group and individual activities, based around their preferences and lifestyle choices. We take time to get to know each person, sitting with them and listening to them speak about their lives, interests, and aspirations. We have access to our own minibus so outings to nearby places of interest are available; for example local museums, art galleries, garden centres, and public houses. We also host themed evenings, such as 'Quiz and Meal-in-a-Basket', 'The Races (Greyhounds, Horses)', and 'Takeaway and Movie Night' that we also encourage relatives to come to. We believe lifestyle choices and activities are one of the most important aspects of a care home, and it is essential that we help residents to have fulfilling and enjoyable lives.

Life at Mulberry Court Care Home

,

Resident realises dream

Resident, Eileen Haw, at Mulberry Court had always wanted to see Andre Rieu live in concert, so staff at the home made her wish a reality by taking her to the cinema where they were showing a live screening of his concert from Maastricht. This proved the old adage, it’s never too late to fulfil your dreams.

Eileen has lived at Mulberry Court for three years and is beloved by staff and residents alike. Staff at the home were delighted to be a part of making her dream come true, as they knew how much it meant to her, and they all wanted to be there to see the smile on Eileen’s face when her dream was realised.

Beningbrough Hall trip

Out and about in our minibus we thought we would try Beningbrough Hall which was a great decision!  Lunch in their lovely café and a walk around the amazing gardens.

Flowers in the garden

No better place to have a flower arranging afternoon than in our beautiful gardens here at Mulberry Court so that's exactly what we did! Residents took their beautiful arrangements back to their rooms to enjoy for days to come.

Happy Anniversary Richard and Barbara!

It was a big Happy Anniversary to our resident Richard and his lovely wife Barbara!  Richard and Barbara celebrated 48 years of happy marriage with us so we decided to spoil them!  Our Head Chef Steve Hill baked them a gorgeous cake and there were flowers, plants and chocolates along with a card signed by us all!

A fond farewell

After 3 years of continuous service at Mulberry Court in York, much-loved Head of Maintenance, Kevin Goodger has decided to retire.  Staff and residents at the home sent Kevin off in style with presents to thank him for many years of dedication.  Everyone at the home has very fond memories of Kevin and he will be sadly missed.

During his time at Mulberry Court, Kevin has always gone the extra mile to help anyone who needed him.  No matter how busy Kevin was he always made a little extra time to talk residents and make their rooms personal.

International Cat Day

Residents had a lovely day as our little feline friend Jasper came for a visit  Jasper is real VIP on International Cat Day as he is spoilt by everyone and loves all the attention.  Everyone gets a chance to have a cuddle with him as he does his lap of honour around the home finding willing laps to curl up on.
