Activities at Orchard House Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Life at Orchard House Care Home

,

Snow Day

Looking out the window at Orchard House was a sight to behold recently!

,

Live Music

On 27th February, we enjoyed an afternoon watching live music from Bob, one of Orchard House's volunteers, who comes in every few months to perform for residents. Everyone appeared to have fun and most sang along with Bob whilst dancing in their chairs.

,

National Real Bread Week

On the 27th February, we had a lovely morning making bread rolls and enjoying a good chit chat. Once we had finished, it was nearly lunch, so residents enjoyed their freshly-baked bread with some soup. Residents said they really enjoyed them and are looking forward to making more bread rolls.

We also enjoyed a day of making ice buns and fruit buns. Several visitors told us how lovely it smelt on Memory Lane, which is where the baking took place.

,

Flower Arranging

On 23rd February, we enjoyed a morning of flower arranging whilst chatting to each other and sharing stories. One resident used to be a florist, so she was sharing her ideas and helping out other residents. Once they were finished, residents then took their arrangements back to their rooms and/or displayed them around the home.

,

Pancake Day

Residents chose their favourite toppings and we put them together. As you can see, everyone appeared to enjoy themselves and said they had fun.

,

National Pizza Day

We celebrated National Pizza Day on 9th February. Residents enjoyed making their own pizzas and they had a selection of toppings they could choose from. We even had a few residents who had never eaten pizza before and were looking forward to making and tasting their own for the first time.
