Activities at Paternoster House Care Home

Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can.

World Book Day

For World Book Day our residents were visited by some iconic book characters.

We've had a fantastic day of rereading some of our favourite books together and discussing why we love them so much.

National Oreo Day

To be honest we were not fully convinced that National Oreo Day was a real thing, but we were happy to grab any excuse that led to Paternoster House being full of delicious Oreo inspired treats!

As we looked into the history of America's favourite 'cookie', we sampled a range of Oreo products and rated them against our own favourite biscuits.

International Women's Day

As part of our International Women's Day celebrations our staff and residents have been choosing and discussing their favourite quotes from some of the women who inspire them.

Our discussions have centred around how and why these women have inspired us personally, their achievements, their legacies and the challenges they have faced.

Cocktails And Mocktails

Fruity Thursday At Paternoster House!

After a great suggestion by one of the residents to honour National Bartender Appreciation Day we held a cocktail and mocktail afternoon. Residents and staff enjoyed a range of cocktails and mocktails with a tropical theme, learnt the history of several famous cocktails and attempted a few unique creations of their own.

Why We Work In Care

Our wonderful team are sometimes asked why it is that we choose to work in care. We each have our own answer for this, but one thing remains the same: We love working in care!

Valentine's Day At Paternoster House

Valentine's Day at Paternoster House was celebrated in full. Dozens of roses, balloons, messages of love and support, great food, wine and lots of smiles and laughter.

Paternoster House wanted to use this special day to spread the message to all the families and friends of the home's residents, that they are loved every day.
