Activities at Paternoster House Care Home
Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can.

For The Love Of Baking
The Paternoster House Baking Club has been hard at work filling the home with the delicious smell of freshly baked chocolate cakes this week.
Our waistlines may not thank us but our taste buds certainly will!
Later this week we will be baking cakes to donate to local front-line NHS teams.
Spring Time In-Door Gardening
This week has seen the residents at Paternoster House helping to get the garden pots and trays looking Spring-ready.
We have been designing flower trays, potting plants and reading up on our gardeners guides. The residents have been full of ideas and inspiration from the gardens they have tended over the years. We are aiming to have some fantastic looking gardens and window displays by the time Summer arrives.
Easter At Paternoster House
Residents and staff have enjoyed an eggcellent Easter at Paternoster House.
The Easter Bank Holiday Weekend was filled with chocolate, cake, faith and fun. Online services were available for residents from local churches, Chef made a fabulous cake and the Activities Team filled the weekend with fun.
Garden Make-Over
Our hardworking gardening team has created a new space for residents to enjoy the sunshine over the coming months.
We are very fortunate with the size of our grounds at Paternoster House as we have large lawns, courtyards and flower gardens. One area of the gardens had been a little forgotten during the winter months, but has seen a dramatic transformation this week.
Once overgrown and unloved, this patio is now wonderfully bright and open. Our residents have been enjoying the sunshine over the Bank Holiday weekend. We are looking forward to holding our summer BBQs here now!
St Patrick's Day
St Patrick's Day was celebrated at Paternoster House with the obligatory green hats, Guinness, accents and Irish music.
A lot of fun was had by the residents with the music being enjoyed all day.
Hydration Week
Drinking enough water each day is crucial for many reasons: to regulate body temperature, keep joints lubricated, prevent infections, deliver nutrients to cells, and keep organs functioning properly. Being well-hydrated also improves sleep quality, cognition, and mood.
You should drink plenty of fluids such as water, diluted squash and fruit juice to stay hydrated. The key is to drink regularly throughout the day (at least 6-8 mugs).
STAY HYDRATED STAY HEALTHY
