Activities at Paternoster House Care Home

Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can.

Performing Pets Visit

The wonderful team from Performing Pets have been in today spreading laughter and joy. Their cuddly and colourful animals were a great hit with the residents and staff!

The team were fantastic and went from room to room to ensure that every resident had the opportunity to meet their super friendly budgies and rabbits.

Performing Pets are going to be visiting us regularly over the next few months with different animals each time.

National Carers Week

During National Carers Week we have been showing our appreciation to all our wonderful carers. All of our front line heroes have shown courage and resilience during a time unlike any we have been through before.

We appreciate all that you do for the vulnerable people in our care to help them live each day to the fullest and celebrate life.

Thank You For Your Compassion - You Are Incredible

Pride Week At Paternoster House

Paternoster House celebrated Pride Week by decorating in a riot of rainbow colours.

We have been learning about the history of the Pride movement, its challenges and the ways that we can get involved. Many of our residents reminisced about the changes they have seen occur in society, film and law throughout their lives. We celebrated the differences that make us such an interesting culture.

Lee Valley White Water Rafting Centre

Our residents have thoroughly enjoyed a trip to Lea Valley White Water Rafting Centre this week.

The Centre is used for Olympic training across a range of water sports.

Our residents had a blast cheering on the white water daredevils as they battled the waves and currents of this challenging course. After being impressed with the skills on show by the Olympic hopefuls our residents went for a takeaway lunch before heading home.

Birthday Celebrations

This week we helped Pearl celebrate her 80th birthday along with her daughter and best friend of 65 years.

It is wonderful for residents to once again be able to have family and loved ones join them in the home to celebrate life's key milestones.

Live Cooking Event

As part of National Vegetarian Week, our residents and Head Chef took part in a live cooking event run by Barchester expert chef Alex.

With the cooking in the home following the live show, residents were delighted with the results. All Barchester chefs are fantastic and have wonderfully high standards, but each home is sure that theirs is the best!

The vegetarian dishes produced from the event were delicious.
