Activities at Pinetree Care Home

Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Life at Pinetree Care Home

Fun in the sun

he sun came out for us at Pinetree yesterday and we sure know how to make the most of it.
Yesterday was also the day we launched our Pinetree residents shop.  This has been something that the residents have looked forward to and really enjoyed.  It became a lovely meeting point for  chats prior to residents regular hairdressing appointments.

Staff and residents participated together in 'learning French' which was hilarious and we ended up telling our own French stories and all the sentences we knew and everyone else had to guess what we were saying.  Some of the answers were priceless.

Sitting in the sun was so popular we ended up staying outside for lunch.  Another way we are able to tailor our days to the needs/wants of the residents.

We ended the day with a lovely performance on the keyboard with some melow music as fiends and families joined their loved ones and the home was alive with chatter and laughter.
What a beautiful day.

Easter Card Making

Our residents had a lovely morning starting to make their Easter cards.  We were joined by the wonderful Reverend Jackie and her community team of support to spend time with the residents and create something festive.

The first floor cafe area was a hive of activity and a lot of fun was had.

Give them an Oscar!

LA isn't the only place where people are awarded an Oscar!

Our residents are so very special to us that we decided they each deserved their very own Oscar for being exactly who they are.  From 'Best Amazon Shopper', to most 'Organised', to 'Cheekiest', to 'Biggest Heart', every single one of our residents has their very own unique talent and we believe they should be recognised for it.

Joyful weekend

What a lovely weekend at Pinetree.
The sun was shining and some of our residents took the opportunity to teach staff and their friends a new skill, knitting.
Different generations spending time together with a shared interest or wanting to learn something new is s joy to watch.  The sense of achievement and belonging is heartwarming.  Being able to live as full a life with company and safely is what we encourage everyday at Pinetree.
Whilst some enjoyed the garden, other residents chose to spend time in the cinema watching the classic film 'Gone with the wind'. Just another example of being able to cater to the need of individual residents and their preferences.
We even had a birthday. Our gorgeous lady Lynne celebrated her birthday in style with a beautiful cake surrounded by friends. Happiest of birthdays Lynne.

Out in the garden

When the sun starts shining and the weather feeling warmer, what do we do at Pinetree?

We sit outside, get some vitamin D, discuss all the plans we intend on doing in the garden over the spring and summer months, have a walk and enjoy the first of the spring flowers making an appearance and laugh with each other whilst we encourage passers by to give us a ‘beep’ of their horns.

One of our residents is also taking advantage of having their own garden space and personalising it as they would have at home.

What a glorious afternoon. ☀️

Helping Hands

‘Keeping my independence’

When we ask residents what is most important to them when moving into care. This is right at the top of the list.
Creating safe spaces where residents can be who they want to be and carry on with life as normal. This fills us with pride at Pinetree.

Today one of our residents has been helping our housekeeping team make the beds and he was a complete professional.
