Activities at Plas-Y-Dderwen Care Home
At Plas-Y-Dderwen Care Home, our Lifestyle/Activities staff endeavour to provide a wide range of activities that suit all residents' physical and mental needs. There are regular minibus trips to nearby places of interest, including visits to local beaches and shows. We also have a film club, gentlemen's club, arts and crafts club, with musical entertainment once a week. Activities are very important to the staff of Plas-Y-Dderwen, making the home a fun and active place for all the residents who live here.
Lisa Peart
Hello, I am Lisa and I have recently joined the team at Plas y Dderwen. I have worked in the care sector since 2009 and I have a passion for working with people.
Although I am new to this role, I have always enjoyed being creative and bringing a smile and a sense of joy to others.
I am looking forward to developing an Activities programme that will bring enrichment to residents' lives through meaningful Activities.

Life at Plas-Y-Dderwen Care Home
Rainbow Parachute
To continue our efforts to add a little colour during these cold winter afternoons, we had a lovely afternoon using our rainbow parachute to have fun but to also learn something new about each other, this was a wonderful, colourful bonding activity.
Remembrance Day
Residents took pride in their work as each of our 3 communities helped to create these memorial murals so we could remember the sacrifice of so many brave souls.
Halloween Spirit
Residents have embraced the Halloween spirit this month as we carved pumpkins, watched scary movies and made every day of the week of Halloween a spooky experience for all.
Arts & Crafts
As we couldn’t go into the garden due to the terrible wind and rain, we decided to bring the garden to us using arts and crafts. Using clay and different sorts of paper, we have started to create our own indoor garden.
Sweet Treats
We are very lucky to be surrounded by so many supporting members of our community. We want to say a special thank you to Pobi Bach Crèche for collecting such lovely treats for our residents to enjoy this month.
Gentle Exercise
As the weather gets colder, the residents and staff come together every week to enjoy gentle exercise. The atmosphere is always fun and engaging, giving everyone the chance to get involved, no matter their abilities.
