Activities at Plas-Y-Dderwen Care Home
At Plas-Y-Dderwen Care Home, our Lifestyle/Activities staff endeavour to provide a wide range of activities that suit all residents' physical and mental needs. There are regular minibus trips to nearby places of interest, including visits to local beaches and shows. We also have a film club, gentlemen's club, arts and crafts club, with musical entertainment once a week. Activities are very important to the staff of Plas-Y-Dderwen, making the home a fun and active place for all the residents who live here.
Lisa Peart
Hello, I am Lisa and I have recently joined the team at Plas y Dderwen. I have worked in the care sector since 2009 and I have a passion for working with people.
Although I am new to this role, I have always enjoyed being creative and bringing a smile and a sense of joy to others.
I am looking forward to developing an Activities programme that will bring enrichment to residents' lives through meaningful Activities.

Life at Plas-Y-Dderwen Care Home
Strike It Up
A resident at Plas-Y-Dderwen really wanted to go bowling again, so we made his wish come true. He was very emotional when he put on his bowling shoes!
Halloween Fun
Residents, staff and guests had lots of fun celebrating Halloween here at Plas-Y-Dderwen.
90th Birthday Celebration
We celebrated the 90th birthday of one of the residents recently. It was a fun a day for everyone.
Musical Fun
Plas Y Dderwen Barchester care home in Johnstown, Carmarthen had a mind blowing afternoon at the Lyric Theatre with Concert and Cakes watching Top Brass Trio. One resident enjoyed the concert so much he wants to go back for every showing.
Top Brass Trio is formed of three graduates from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. The Trio are committed to music education and continue to entertain and inspire audiences nationwide, by breaking down the boundaries of classical music.
Funky Donkey
It's always a pleasure to have Toby the donkey visit our home.
Fun in the Sun
Plas Y Dderwen had a wild and wonderful day on their recent open day. The fun started when the homes' General Manager and Deputy Manager crazily ventured into a bath of gooey cold beans, however, it was not as bad as they were hosed down by the fire brigade.
The next challenge they faced was to eat Locusts, kindly supplied by Bug Farm St David’s. It was a really fun day, attended by residents, staff, family members and the local community.
