Activities at Plas-Y-Dderwen Care Home
At Plas-Y-Dderwen Care Home, our Lifestyle/Activities staff endeavour to provide a wide range of activities that suit all residents' physical and mental needs. There are regular minibus trips to nearby places of interest, including visits to local beaches and shows. We also have a film club, gentlemen's club, arts and crafts club, with musical entertainment once a week. Activities are very important to the staff of Plas-Y-Dderwen, making the home a fun and active place for all the residents who live here.

Hello, I am Lisa and I have recently joined the team at Plas y Dderwen. I have worked in the care sector since 2009 and I have a passion for working with people.
Although I am new to this role, I have always enjoyed being creative and bringing a smile and a sense of joy to others.
I am looking forward to developing an Activities programme that will bring enrichment to residents' lives through meaningful Activities.

Life at Plas-Y-Dderwen Care Home
Castle View and Ice Cream

Trip to Carew Castle
Residents were accompanied by children from Lollypops Nursery on a nostalgic trip to Carew Castle, where they were welcomed with vintage cars, motorbikes and military vehicles.
It brought tears to one of the residents, quoting 'I was stationed here in the war and so happy to return, I never thought I would see this castle again.'
Easter Celebrations
Easter was a special time at Plas-Y-Dderwen, as kids from the local school came in to celebrate with us!
Horsin' Around
In the spirit of the Grand National, residents and staff enjoyed horsing around when a staff members brought in her horse, George.
St David's Day
Residents, staff and loved ones enjoyed celebrated St David's Day here at Plas-Y-Dderwen.
A Day in the Garden
Residents, Children and Volunteers spent the day helping out in the Garden at Plas Y Dderwen. We thought it would be a great way to enjoy a bit of that Welsh Sun!
