Activities at Ritson Lodge Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Life at Ritson Lodge Care Home

Sunday Afternoon music

Sunday Afternoon music

We are lucky at Ritson Lodge to have very talented staff and on a rainy, cold Sunday it was a surprise to have Andrew and Josh (two of our Kitchen assistants/Hosts) bring their guitars in for a sing song. A large group of residents listened and one gentleman even joined in, playing his xylophone. It was a brilliant surprise and perfect to wash away those winter blues.

We’re off to see the Wizard

We’re off to see the Wizard

Staff put their heads together to think of a way to help raise money for Children in Need. This is where our journey to see the Wizard started. Staff dressed up in Wizard of Oz costumes (from the courageous lion to the wicked witch of the West and everything in between), the Chef made beautiful coloured cupcakes and laid them out in the shape of a rainbow and we even had the film projected on to the wall in the reception area for everyone to watch. Popcorn was made for everyone to enjoy and it really was the full works. All of this happened whilst the Emerald City sparkled at the end of the yellow brick road. Everyone took part in a Wizard of Oz themed quiz and it really was something magical. Thank you to everyone who donated and helped us raise £45 for Children in Need.

Santa Claus is Coming

Santa Claus is Coming

Just before Christmas Santa Claus made a detour and pulled up in the car park here at Ritson Lodge. It was a very cold evening but this didn’t stop everyone from being able to admire Santa’s sleigh, staff and residents of the home stood in the reception area and watched him arrive. Thank you to the Great Yarmouth Lions Club who helped make the festive period magical for everyone!
