Activities at Rose Lodge Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Jane Ritchie
Hello, my name is Jane and I am the Activities Coordinator here at Rose Lodge and I have been here since 2010 .
My role is to engage and stimulate our residents by offering a range of activities for them to enjoy. I want to get everyone involved and make our home community and atmosphere as positive and welcoming as possible.
Making sure that our residents have things to do that they really enjoy doing is something that I am passionate about, It is so important to make sure that they are happy and enjoy all of the activities and events that we do with them. We enjoy creating new and special memories together.

Life at Rose Lodge Care Home

Carers Week
We had a fabulous time celebrating Carers Week. We took the time to recognise and thank our wonderful carers at Rose Lodge. We are proud of each and every one of our care team for the outstanding care that they provide to our residents every single day. They always go above and beyond their role and for this we are truly grateful.
As part of the week, our carers received lovely thank you cards from our community members, relatives and friends.

Eyes down
Residents at Rose Lodge enjoy a varied life enrichment programme to keep the mind, body and soul active. Each day there are popular group activities bringing everyone together along with individual Resident centred activities. It was ‘eyes down’ for residents at Rose Lodge as they attempted to win a full house during a game of themed bingo, with activities the house caller!
Many of the residents have played bingo prior to moving into the home and bingo continues to be a popular game for the home as part of its life enrichment programme. There is lots of excitement in the air to see who will claim the prize!

World Ocean Day
We got involved in fun-filled activities and discussions in recognition of World Ocean Day. Did you know that 71% of Earth’s surface is water, and our oceans play a vital role in our planet's ecosystem?
To mark the day, our residents learned about various ocean environments with an activity pack and took part in ocean-themed creative arts and crafts.

Long service celebrated at Garden Party
Residents and colleagues at Rose Lodge recently enjoyed an afternoon garden party with live entertainment and a BBQ to celebrate 10-years long service of two members of the team.
Kitchen Assistant, Jo Kierman and Admin Assistant, Su O’Riordan were recognised for their 20-years combined long service and were surprised with gifts and well wishes. Popular entertainers, KJ and the Catt provided the musical entertainment to the delight of everyone.

Creative arts
Residents today welcomed back Debbie, from Gratitude 43 for an interactive arts and crafts session where they spent time creating and designing colourful letter signs spelling ‘Rose Lodge’.
Residents enjoy these popular and regular sessions with Debbie who guides us all through how to produce our works of art. We are now proudly displaying the letters in our memory lane dining room for all to see.

The good life!
Residents of Rose Lodge have been busy growing their own plants, flowers and vegetables as part of the homes gardening club and life enrichment programme and residents were delighted with their recent crop of produce!
Residents have been busy planting some seedlings for their summer planters and decided to take advantage of a dry afternoon to re-pot them. We now have an anxious wait to see what happens – and hopefully identify what plants they are!
