Activities at Rose Lodge Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Life at Rose Lodge Care Home

Yorkshire Day
This week we celebrated Yorkshire Day in style. We hosted a Yorkshire themed day with a nice ‘brew’ Yorkshire style and chatted about holidays in some of the most popular seaside resorts. It was a wonderful day.

Virtual Tour of Mayfair
Residents across our services had a fantastic time joining Mandy Morrow for a virtual walking tour to learn about the ‘Herstory’ of Mayfair. The Mayfair of Nightingales may be long gone but it still holds a 20th century charm. Birthplace to the late Queen Elizabeth II, home to one of WWII's most decorated female war heroes and a tale of a wealthy Aristocrat and one of France's favourite designers.
We were delighted to take a walk down memory lane and discover stories from one of London's most iconic areas. The experience was truly enjoyed by all.

History of Wall's icecream
Residents across our homes had a fantastic time during a special live virtual event in celebration on National Ice Cream Day. Wall’s team took us on a great journey through history, sharing fascinating details about the brand since its launch in 1922. We learned about major innovations such as the introduction of Mr Whippy, Cornetto, Viennetta, Twister, and Carte d'Or.
Residents were treated to a singalong to Cornetto classic ads, an interactive quiz about fun Wall’s facts and best-of-all, an ice-cream tasting session. It was a delightful experience for everyone, especially our ice-cream lovers.

Puzzle time
We do like a good puzzle here at Rose Lodge! This morning we enjoyed keeping our minds active by completing a selection of jigsaw puzzles and maze games – both are a fun challenge for hand-eye coordination! We chatted together as we tested our skills to complete before sitting back to admirer the end results over a cup of refreshing tea and slice of homemade cake!

Independence Day
We celebrated 4th of July in true American style as we have residents who have lived and travelled to the USA. Our home was decorated with themed flags to mark the occasion.
We enjoyed listening to some of the all-time favourite American hits, as we gathered together for classic hot dogs, and enjoyed decorating delicious doughnuts. It was a great day, enjoyed by all.

Memories of the beach
We enjoy our sensory trolley here at Rose Lodge, where there are many items for our residents to engage in and reminisce. This week have had fun with a beach theme, listening to the sounds of the sea, feeling and discussing the shape of shells and texture of sand.
We also enjoyed discussing postcards, holidays as children and with our families, building sandcastles and the fun in collecting shells for our buckets! Vera said, “she always remembered packing the picnic with homemade cakes and little treats for the end of the day.
