Activities at Rose Lodge Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Boxing Day celebrations

There was lots of singing and dancing on Boxing Day as residents and colleagues welcomed back KJ and The Catt for live performance and karaoke sing-a-long. It is always a fun filled group activity and very popular with our residents, everyone has a wonderful time!

Our varied life enrichment programme keeps residents active, and provides a daily choice of engaging physical, mental and spiritual activities tailored to residents’ interests and abilities.

Puss in Boots

Residents, families and friends were treated to a festive pantomime performance ‘Puss in Boots’.  Everyone gathered to watch the performance which tells the story of the cat who uses trickery and deceit to gain power, wealth, and the hand of a princess in marriage for his penniless and low-born master.

Everyone enjoyed the performance and interacted with the actors from start to finish. Seasonal food and beverages were served throughout, after the show, everyone shared their fond memories of Christmas.

Home host annual Christmas Party

Residents of Rose Lodge were in the Christmas spirit as they welcome KJ and the Catt Entertainment to their annual Christmas party.   Residents, families and friends came together to enjoy mouth-watering festive treats and there was lots of singing and dancing as K & J Catt performed a medley of its. Everyone had a great time!  Everyone at Rose Lodge would like to wish our families and friends in the community a very Merry Christmas.

Gingerbread House Day

We love any excuse to get creative so when we found out it was Gingerbread House Day on December 12, we didn’t need any persuading to get cracking. Our talented chef prepared a big batch of gingerbread for our residents, who then got busy decorating with icing, buttercream, marshmallows, dolly mixture, candy canes and edible glitter to make some of the glitziest gingerbread houses in town.  The gingerbread houses look really lovely and they are indeed delicious - what a fun way to spend the afternoon.

Festive bingo

It was ‘eyes down’ for residents at Rose Lodge as they attempted to win a full house during a game of festive themed bingo, with activities the house caller!   Many of the residents have played bingo prior to moving into the home and bingo continues to be a popular game for the home as part of its life enrichment programme. There is lots of excitement in the air to see who will claim the prize!

Local nursery spread a little festive cheer

Here at Rose Lodge we love our intergenerational links and always look forward to welcoming our little friends throughout the year – but Christmas is always special!   The children from our local nursery recently visited bearing gifts and singing carols to our residents, brining smiles to everyone’s faces.
