Activities at Rose Lodge Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Art Historian virtual talk

Residents across our services had a delightful time during a special virtual sensory storytelling event, led by Art Historian Jon Sleigh from the Historic Royal Palaces.

Jon took us on a journey to discover some of the more unusual and unexpected inhabitants of the palaces and the Tower of London, sharing fascinating stories about the pets at the palaces.

Whilst enjoying the virtual experience, our residents were treated to hot beverages, delicious biscuits, berries and cakes.  It was a truly lovely time for all.

Come sing!

We had a fantastic time with vocal coach Dan Cooper from Biiah as he led an amazing virtual singing session for our residents to enjoy.  Our residents were able to learn different techniques as they sang the famous ‘Walking on Sunshine’ by Katrina and ‘Save the Last Dance for Me’ by The Drifters.

There were smiles and laugher all around. The session was such a success and was great for the mind, body and soul.

Dementia Action Week

To celebrate Dementia Action Week,  residents of Rose Lodge participated in variety of activities. Whilst we had planned to go for a memory walk, the weather was not favourable! Not to dampen our spirits we enjoyed a delicious cream team especially prepared by the homes hospitality team.We kept fit together with a fun filled interactive session with Jake from Mind, Body and Soul who always brings a lot of energy and joy on his visits to the home.

We even showed our creative sides - painting pebbles with our own designs and messages and these are now proudly displayed around our raised flower beds in the memory lane garden for all to see!

Dementia Action Week

To celebrate Dementia Action Week, our residents participated in various activities. We had planned to go for a memory walk, but the weather was not favourable. Instead, we enjoyed a delicious cream tea in the afternoon. We also had a session of exercise with Jake from Mind Body and Soul, who always brings a lot of energy and joy to our residents. He also took the time to chat with them and listen to their stories.

One of the highlights of the week was painting pebbles with our own designs and messages. We then placed them in our memory lane garden, for all to enjoy.

History Talk With Roger L Rawson

Residents and loved ones enjoyed listening to Roger discuss the changes made to Wisbech over the decades. His beautiful presentation of the old and new combined with his own memories, sparked delightful conversations all day between residents.

Hillary  shared how much the town had changed to what it is now  as well as many others about the sweet shops and seeing the horse and cart.

We'd like to thank Roger for volunteering his time and hosting a beautiful presentation. If anyone would like to support him, he's raising money for the Magas Air Ambulance and you can donate her

Coronation Celebrations

An old fashioned English favourite of fish and chips served in union jack boats was a lunch time delight prepared by our chef. It was a wonderful day which had residents reminiscing about their memories of the late queen and the celebrations of all her jubilee’s and the fantastic pageantry of our royal family. Residents also enjoyed entertainment by KJ & the Catt . The songs they both sang so brilliantly reflected the King and our Great British spirit. Residents enjoyed the morning. We also enjoyed a buffet tea street party lovely food peppered by kitchen staff lovely evening held by all.
