Activities at Rose Lodge Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Life at Rose Lodge Care Home

Home host Christmas Fair

Residents and colleagues welcomed families and friends to their annual Christmas Fair spreading a little festive cheer!  There was a variety of stalls for everyone to browse, Christmas songs and treats for everyone to enjoy.   One resident remarked: “I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was great to see the home come to life. It has certainly put me in the festive mood".

St Andrew's celebrations

Today we celebrated the national day of Scotland and their patron Saint Andrew.  We marked the day with a celebrations of the Scottish culture and our residents also learnt interesting facts about St Andrew, who surprisingly was not Scottish.   We hosted a quiz afternoon with 35 questions about Scotland and watched some highland dancing virtually.  It was a lovely day, enjoyed by all.

Festive retail therapy

Residents enjoyed a lovely day out festive shopping looking at all the lovely Christmas things from baubles, glitter and gifts.  After a little retail therapy we all enjoyed a spot of lunch – delicious fish and chips!  It was a great way to spend the day.

Intergenerational visit brings laughs!

Residents and colleagues enjoyed a visit by the children of their local nursery. It was a fun filled morning of card games, lucky dips and much laughter before settling down to enjoy refreshing drinks and home-made biscuits.  Everyone looks forward to their visits and can’t wait to see them return for a festive carol concert.

Operation Christmas Child

Rose Lodge Care Home have been busy by filling shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child.  Residents and staff from the home, have been getting into the Christmas spirit and supporting those in need.

The home has filled several shoeboxes which were packed with love and care and taken to the Oasis Community Centre by Activities Co-ordinator Jane Ritchie. Jane said “Christmas is a time when we think of happiness and joy and it is nice to be able to share some of this with those who are less fortunate than ourselves. Resident really enjoyed packing the boxes and talking about the gifts they gave their children. It has been a busy time at the home, with lots of events taking place and plenty more over December to engage and enrich our residents.
