Activities at Rose Lodge Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Jane Ritchie
Hello, my name is Jane and I am the Activities Coordinator here at Rose Lodge and I have been here since 2010 .
My role is to engage and stimulate our residents by offering a range of activities for them to enjoy. I want to get everyone involved and make our home community and atmosphere as positive and welcoming as possible.
Making sure that our residents have things to do that they really enjoy doing is something that I am passionate about, It is so important to make sure that they are happy and enjoy all of the activities and events that we do with them. We enjoy creating new and special memories together.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Rose Lodge Care Home

Dogs Trust
Across of homes residents had a fantastic time during a special live virtual event, led by Jennifer and Emily from Dogs Trust, the UK's largest dog welfare charity. Jennifer and Emily took us on a journey to discover the rich history of Dogs Trust and their facilities.
Using captivating video and photo footage, our residents were able to explore rehoming centres and learn more about the highest level of welfare offered there. It was a delightful experience for everyone, especially our dog lovers.

Time for tea
Residents enjoyed their creative morning with Debbie from Gratitude 43. This is a popular group activity and residents were busy cutting and designing their tea pots, the theme was ‘time for tea’.
It was a perfect way to start the day before enjoying an afternoon cream tea as they proudly looked at the colourful display for all to see.

World Chocolate Day
We revelled in all things sweet for World Chocolate Day with a range of chocolatey activities. Our residents enjoyed an exciting where they had the chance to try different chocolate bars from all over the world.
In the afternoon, we took part in themed quiz, tasted our delicious treats and had a discussion about all things chocolate. A wonderful day was had by all.

Gardening club
Residents of Rose Lodge have been busy growing their own plants and vegetables as part of the homes gardening club and life enrichment programme and residents were delighted with their recent crop of produce!
The club have also been busy painting the fence a bright colour, staff have also been involved with the potting of plants, mint and cutting the lavender to make their own lavender bags for their rooms.

Hockey competiton
Residents at Rose Lodge enjoy a varied life enrichment programme to keep the mind, body and soul active. Today there was lots of laughter and a little friendly competitiveness as we played table hockey scoring as many goals as we could.
It was a whole team approach as members of the care team joined in the fun! But who was our winner?

Do you like a puzzle?
Do you like a good puzzle? – we do. For one of our residents, Peter this is a very special hobby as each puzzle completed is part of his life’s history and has a special meaning to him. Once they are completed they are framed for him by his niece, Jo so that he can look at them each day. There is always a story behind each puzzle.
We encourage and support our residents to retain their interests, hobbies and daily lifestyle preferences to continue pursuing the things they have always enjoyed? They are also invited to join new activities and make friends along the way.
