Activities at Rose Lodge Care Home
Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!
Jane Ritchie
Hello, my name is Jane and I am the Activities Coordinator here at Rose Lodge and I have been here since 2010 .
My role is to engage and stimulate our residents by offering a range of activities for them to enjoy. I want to get everyone involved and make our home community and atmosphere as positive and welcoming as possible.
Making sure that our residents have things to do that they really enjoy doing is something that I am passionate about, It is so important to make sure that they are happy and enjoy all of the activities and events that we do with them. We enjoy creating new and special memories together.

Life at Rose Lodge Care Home
Veterans Club
On Wednesday 11th September Rose Lodge held their first veterans breakfast club. Everyone had a lovely morning. Residents chatted about political regimes, historical battles and about their time at the army.
Beside the Seaside
Residents enjoyed a seaside-themed afternoon, which we hosted in the back garden.
Out & About
On Tuesday 27th August, residents enjoyed a trip out to Hunstanton, where they had some fish & chips and then went to the Sealife Centre. It was a lovely day.
Summer Holiday Songs
On 8th August, Clearer Productions came in to sing some summer holidays songs. Residents really enjoyed the show, and some even got up on stage to sing and dance.
Congratulations Joyce
Joyce Turney, a Senior Carer at Rose Lodge received a prestigious 15 Year of Service award in celebration of working at Barchester Healthcare.
Joyce is now their first ever Care Practitioner, started in July 2004 and has worked with residents and their relatives to ensure that their needs have been met over the years.
Jane, Employee Services Director at Barchester said: “I’m always pleased to hear stories about the long service of Barchester staff and am delighted Joyce has achieved this milestone. It is dedication like this that ensures our residents are provided with a happy place to live.”
Meg Jones, General Manager of Rose Lodge said: “We’re delighted to be celebrating 15 years of loyal service with Joyce. She has demonstrated her dedication and loyalty to this home and its residents year after year. I speak for all of us here at Rose Lodge when I say that I’m looking forward to many more years of working with Joyce!” “We could not be prouder of Joyce for achieving Care Practitioner status- her training has put her through her paces but she has been the model student- we are absolutely thrilled for her achievement and wanted to celebrate with her.
The Magic Table
We are delighted to announce that we have just had a Magic Table installed, which is an interactive light projector, designed to support residents living with dementia by keeping them engaged through specialised games.
The light projections respond to hand and arm movement, allowing residents to stay stimulated and, most of all, have fun!
You can read more about it on this page.
