Activities at Rose Lodge Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

A spot of retail therapy

Residents thoroughly enjoyed a trip out to our local supermarket doing a spot of retail therapy and using the self-service check out. Residents purchased some delicious cakes and commented “they could not believe how much things have changed in the supermarkets!”

As part of our life enrichment programme we ensure our residents remain connected to their local community.

Home creates games room

Here at Rose Lodge we are delighted to have created a ‘games room’ for residents and their families to come together and have fun!

Our little games room as a pool table and darts board and residents have also taken up dominos and cards. We also have an ice hockey  game  – a little friendly competitiveness is showing! Residents really do enjoy the games room  to socialise and a great opportunity to catch up.

Gaming rooms can also promote health and wellness. With the rise of fitness games, you can use your gaming room to incorporate physical activity into your gaming routine. This is a great way to stay active while enjoying your favorite games.

A breath of fresh air

Residents of Rose Lodge took to the homes beautiful garden to take advantage of the dry weather to enjoy a breath of fresh air and to enjoy a spot of gardening as part of the homes popular garden club.

Everyone commented on how much better they felt for grabbing a breath of fresh air, feeling the sun on their faces and checking on the progress of their plants in the homes extensive grounds.

Exercise Class

Here at Rose Lodge, we always look forward to JK Fitness hosting our popular group exercise session.

There sessions are popular and good for our mind, body and soul. Jake from JK Fitness also likes to test our knowledge with ‘homework’ as he asks us how many muscles we have in our body!  Jake asked us regarding muscles in our body he said we all done well

Afterwards, we are always ready for a refreshing  drinks.

Little Helpers!

Residents of Rose Lodge are encouraged to lend a helping hand if they wish. Residents are often found lending a helping hand to the team at the home from the chef where they have enjoyed a lifelong interest and enjoyment in cooking to the domestic team and having a duster in hand!

For others, simple folding of napkins and participating in household chores to laying of the tables for lunch. One Resident says “this gives me a purpose, I feel like I’m contributing by lending a helping hand”. The ladies recently enjoyed a morning folding laundry as it was a job they much enjoyed.

Magic table fun

Did you know that we can bring a bit of magic to our home through some of the most advance technological solutions to enhance our residents’ engagement? Our residents love using our Magic Table and exploring the great variety of sensory interactive games, which research has shown are able to have a positive effect on those living with dementia through sensory stimulation, relaxation and reminiscence.
