Activities at Rose Lodge Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Life at Rose Lodge Care Home

Pet therapy with Tiger
We love our pet therapy visits here at Rose Lodge with our four-legged friend, Tiger. The visits spark beautiful memories of past pets and the companionship they provided.
Twice a month Tizzy brings her therapy dog, Tiger into meet and greet the residents, listen to their own pet stories and share Tigers latest adventures. These delightful visits provide relaxation and an opportunity to natter and share important life stories.
Maria said, "I had a Golden Labrador called Jock. I adored him ever so much". Our residents look forward to giving tiger his treat

Visit to Wisbech Park
Staff and residents had a fantastic time visiting Wisbech Park Pavilion where they all enjoyed the first glimpse of this month’s warmer weather coming in.
Residents and staff had a brilliant time taking a stroll around the park and enjoying tea, coffee and cake from the on-site café.
Activities Co-ordinator, Jane said: “We absolutely love being able to take our residents out and about to visit the park pavilion, it makes us so happy to be able to access venues like this. It has been a fantastic day and we’ve all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.”
Elizabeth, resident at Rose Lodge said: “The Park was just a short ride in the mini bus and was such a lovely place to enjoy our drinks and just watch the world go by”

Wonders of the ocean
Residents across our services enjoyed a fantastic virtual tour of The Deep, an award-winning aquarium in Hull.
Our residents dived into the underwater world of some fascinating creatures such as sharks, turtles and stingrays.
It was a truly immersive and educational experience that brought the wonders of the ocean right to our screens.

Residents enjoy model demonstration
Rose Lodge enjoyed a visit from March and District Model Railway Club on Tuesday the 14th of May. Staff, residents and guests enjoyed observing Keith set up the model trains and railway lines and even got involved with coupling and uncoupling different train carriages.
One resident, Bill, reminisced about the trains he used to build years ago, Keith and the team said they would kindly donate him a train set so that he could enjoy building his own again.
Rose Lodge has built up an excellent reputation in its local communities. The home regularly holds events and activities for its residents and surrounding neighbours.

Make a wish
This morning Rose Lodge fulfilled the wishes of two of our residents. Following the introduction of a wishing box, two of our ladies had expressed a wish to spend some time with some cats, having had cats in the past. With the help of the Activities Team and our volunteer driver Roy we spent a delightful hour at the Purr Cafe in Kings Lynn. Marie and Ann were so pleased to have their wish granted- and Ann was overjoyed to have the beautiful cats come and play while a delicious coffee and cake were consumed.
The outing was also a celebration of Marie’s ten year anniversary at Rose Lodge, and we were delighted to meet Marie’s brother John and sister in law Cynthia at the cafe to mark the occasion. Marie commented “ how lovely to get out and the cats were a bonus”
Ann said” the cats were so playful and happy to be stroked. It reminds me of my cats “

Dementia action week
In our Memory Lane Community named 'Free Spirit' we are organising a range of activities for Dementia Action Week. We kick started it off with delightful musical entertainment by Steve Carmel. Steve took residents and their families on a trip down memory lane by singing a variety of songs that sparked beautiful memories and had everyone singing and dancing along. Throughout we also enjoyed scrumptious afternoon tea and cakes.
At today's event we were joined by the Mayor and the Mayoress of Wisbech to help us celebrate this special week for people living with Dementia. The residents thoroughly enjoyed chatting away and sharing memories of Wisbech over the decades.
Today is only the beginning of an incredible week raising awareness for Dementia and enriching the lives of those living with Dementia . Cadbury's who have donated these gorgeous memory boxes and a selection of chocolates for our residents to enjoy during their activities A huge thank you to Steve, our spectacular entertainer, Mayor and Mayoress who joined us for this momentous occasion.
