Activities at Scarborough Hall Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Life at Scarborough Hall Care Home

Keeping Residents connected

Residents are overjoyed at Scarborough Hall care home in Scarborough, as Barchester Healthcare has implemented a visiting suite for residents to continue to spend time with their loved ones for the autumn and winter seasons in addition to the outdoor visiting that has been on offer for those able for many months.

Balancing resident wellbeing and safety is at the forefront of Barchester Healthcare’s thinking and they understand how important it is for residents and their family and friends to be able to spend time together in the safest way possible.

There has been much careful planning and preparation for this moment by Barchester Healthcare, who run Scarborough Hall care home. It was welcome news for their residents and family and friends as we enter the colder season meaning catch-ups can continue to take place, instead of, or in addition to, outdoor visiting already offered for those able.

Home deliver Halloween treats for local school

Halloween is a little different this year for everyone and pupils from Roecliffe Church of England Primary School would normally join Residents for a ‘spooky’ Halloween party.  Suzanne, activities coordinator delivered some Halloween treats to the school so the children did not miss out.

The home are in regular contact with the primary school even in these uncertain times and the residents and children write letters to one another, we are so grateful for the relationships we have within the community.  Residents would like to wish the children a happy Halloween and can’t wait to hear what they did during half-term.

Staff receive gift from local Co-op

The team at Scarborough Hall care home, in Scarborough recently enjoyed a hamper from one of their local community links, who have treated the team to a selection of goodies in thanks for all the hard work that Key Worker across the UK are doing during the pandemic. The team at the home have enjoyed the treats during break times and it meant such a lot as Keyworkers are very often not recognised for the work that they do on a daily basis.

Charlotte Nurse, General Manager at Scarborough Hall Care Home said: “In these unprecedented times, ensuring we keep connected with our local community is more important than ever and the hamper was gratefully received. The CO-OP used to regularly bring in their memory box which was filled with old reminisce items for the residents to enjoy.
