Activities at Seaview House Care Home

Our Activities Coordinators are constantly striving to mentally and physically stimulate those we support by organising group and individual activities for anyone and everyone to participate in. There are exercise classes and a walking group, regular outings in the minibus to nearby places of interest including local concerts, as well as weekly visits from a PAT dog, and regular visits from musicians and entertainers, as well as church services which are held twice a month. We also host a weekly social event in which we encourage residents from the whole home to socialise together.

Activities are one of the most important aspects of a care home, so it is essential that our team are dedicated to ensuring that residents are entertained, and that life at Seaview is fun and active.

Coronation history

Across our services Residents had a wonderful time participating in an interactive virtual talk with Pippa Catterall, Professor of History and Policy at the University of Westminster, where we delved into the rich history of coronations.

During the talk, we explored fascinating topics such as the coronation chair, the crown, and other significant aspects related to King Charles' upcoming coronation. Our residents were thrilled to have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the memoirs of past coronations from 1937 and 1953, as well as learning about the coronation oath and what to expect from the ceremony, including the music, guests, and pageantry.

Easter Fun

With lots of different Easter activities going on in Seaview over Easter weekend it was something for everyone with even the local schools getting involved in our Easter colouring Competition with our home full of their beautiful entries. Residents decorating a cake for a cake competition and then making Easter Bonnets for our parade. Fun had by all.

Bringing colour to our home

With our daffodils in full bloom in our garden at Seaview everyone was delighted going out and picking the buds and then all hands on deck to put into vases with a bit of flower arranging as we then decorated our home full of colour for everyone to see.

Caithness & Sutherland Vintage and Classic Vehicles

Seaview welcomed Caithness & Sutherland Vintage and Classic Vehicle association as they started their season with a visit to show us all their old & well maintained cars. Residents & staff were delighted getting to sit in the cars and chat with members about how old their cars were. Some of the residents said it brought back memories of when they were younger and family trips away. The weather wasn’t good but everyone still wanted to see the display in our front Car park.

Everyone Needs A Hug

A hug makes everything better, so everyone that wanted a hug today got it from our big colourful caterpillar friend. Sometimes when we are feeling down and our families are not there a hug from our Seaview Family or a very furry friend is all we need. The smiles say it all.

British Pie Week

Everyone has a favourite pie so when it was British Pie Week, what better way to mark this than to get cooking and make our own pies! After choosing what fillings they wanted to put in their pies and the cook preparing this, the ladies made different filed pies for everyone’s Tea! Didn’t they do a great job. The ladies said they enjoy cooking and baking activities as it makes them feel like they are still able to help.
