Activities at Seaview House Care Home

Our Activities Coordinators are constantly striving to mentally and physically stimulate those we support by organising group and individual activities for anyone and everyone to participate in. There are exercise classes and a walking group, regular outings in the minibus to nearby places of interest including local concerts, as well as weekly visits from a PAT dog, and regular visits from musicians and entertainers, as well as church services which are held twice a month. We also host a weekly social event in which we encourage residents from the whole home to socialise together.

Activities are one of the most important aspects of a care home, so it is essential that our team are dedicated to ensuring that residents are entertained, and that life at Seaview is fun and active.

Activities and Events Partnerships

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Life at Seaview House Care Home

Dance school entertains

Elise Lyall Dance School entertains Seaview. We recently had Elise Lyall’s Dance School in Seaview to entertain everyone with their dance routines and everyone in full Highland Dress.

Royal Botanic Garden

Our homes enjoyed a wonderful virtual tour of the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh with Community Engagement Manager, Charlotte Walker, and Botanic Cottage Operations Co-ordinator, Laura Gallagher.

The residents were thrilled to learn more about the history of the beautiful Garden, which is now a home to an impressive plant collection from around the world.

Charlotte and Laura also gave a demonstration of making fresh herbal tea and were happy to answer our questions.  The virtual experience was truly enjoyed by all who joined.

International Charity Day

Residents from Seaview wanted to give locally for International Charity Day so Joan and Clara were delighted handing over two boxes of groceries, jigsaws and books to the Pultney Peoples Project’s Sharing Area where families that are struggling with the rising cost of living can come and help themselves to whatever they need.

A furry visitor

When a relative drops off Mo the collie puppy for an afternoon of visiting at Seaview, you can tell by their faces a furry cuddle and lick is most welcome! Pet therapy at its best.

Residents pay their respects

A group of residents representing Seaview House visited the Royal Memorial Garden at Wick riverside & placed a floral tribute and had a minutes silence in memory of Queen Elizabeth II.

Wallace Collection

Our homes had a fantastic time joining members of the Wallace Collection for an amazing sensory session.

During the live virtual experience, our residents explored one of the museum’s most beautiful Dutch flower paintings and learnt new drawing techniques.

We cannot wait to put our creative skills to a test and produce beautiful paintings of our own.

Everyone enjoyed the lovely talk, we all had lots of fun and it’s given us plenty of ideas.
