Activities at Seaview House Care Home
Our Activities Coordinators are constantly striving to mentally and physically stimulate those we support by organising group and individual activities for anyone and everyone to participate in. There are exercise classes and a walking group, regular outings in the minibus to nearby places of interest including local concerts, as well as weekly visits from a PAT dog, and regular visits from musicians and entertainers, as well as church services which are held twice a month. We also host a weekly social event in which we encourage residents from the whole home to socialise together.
Activities are one of the most important aspects of a care home, so it is essential that our team are dedicated to ensuring that residents are entertained, and that life at Seaview is fun and active.

Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Seaview House Care Home

Intergenerational visit
Local PEEP baby Group made a return visit to Seaview with Babies aged birth to 12 months. The interactions between the babies and residents were beautiful to see and the residents said you can’t beat a cuddle and a smile from a baby. The group were read stories by leader Louise and then the residents joined in with the songs saying they remembered singing them to their own families.

Meet the Reindeers
Across our homes we got into the Christmas spirit of things by joining a festive live virtual experience, led by Des and Kelly from Performing Pets.
Our residents were thrilled to meet the charming furry friends and get up close and personal with the reindeers.
We certainly learnt some interesting facts about the animals and had a fantastic time.

Charity Cheque
Local charity Cycling Without Age wick benefited from Barchester Staff Lottery Fund after Seaview had to choose the recipient for this month’s donation. Manager Gayle Magennis handed a cheque over for the value of £744.00 to George Ewing & Jane Cormack from Cycling Without Age. The money will go towards the purchase of a new Trishaw bike which the Seaview Residents often use.

Lest We Forget
Remembering fallen heroes is always a very emotional time at Seaview and this year our Remembrance window display was admired by everyone. The residents enjoyed making the poppies and having their hand photo taken for the display. All said they were delighted with the end result.

Halloween Wreath Masterclass
Residents were delighted when local florist Francis Yellop came to Seaview to make a Halloween Wreath with them. Everyone had fun doing their bit on the wreath with Francis’s guidance and they said they all look forward to her return for the Christmas Wreath Masterclass.

We recieved a fabulous gift!
The residents at Seaview House were delighted when a residents daughter donated a new Bingo machine to Seaview after hearing they were fundraising for a new one. Hannah Mclean handed the new machine over to some of the bingo regulars at Seaview who were delighted to accept it and then continued to try out the new machine saying that seeing the new machine reminded them of bingo games in the clubs years ago.
