Activities at South Grange Care Home
Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can.

Life at South Grange Care Home
Valentines Day at South Grange
South Grange residents and staff had a busy day celebrating Valentines. The day started with covering strawberries in dark and white chocolate for all to eat. Followed by making gifts for our loved ones.
The celebrations continued into the afternoon with live music, singing and dancing. What a wonderful day was had by all.
National Pizza Day
Residents at South Grange got creative and made their own pizzas to celebrate national pizza day. There were lots of ingredients to choose from such as, cheese, pepperoni, onions, peppers and so much more. Of course we had to taste test the final product once they were cooked. All the residents thoroughly enjoyed doing this and said it reminded them of their childhood.
University of Dundee Museum
Residents were delighted to have our first session with Amy who arranged a bag pack full of beautiful items of art from the University of Dundee Museum.
Residents enjoyed viewing the beautiful scenic pictures and feeling the textures of the handpicked seashells while Amy described the history behind these pieces of art. Flowers delicately carved from wooden materials were also available for residents to see along with the opportunity to smell a sample of the beautiful aroma of flowers.
Residents expressed how enjoyable and relaxing the session had been and the feeling of visiting the museum from the comfort of their own home.
We would like to thank Amy for this lovely visit and our residents cannot wait for our next session.
Spring is coming
Residents at South Grange are starting to make great use of our garden and conservatory for the first time this year. They love to have a walk around outside to catch fresh air, look at all the flowers that are already blooming and sit at the door to guess the shapes or objects of the clouds. Our resident Jim said “it is nice to get outside and get fresh air, it feels as though it is spring!”
Gentle Exercise Classes
South Grange residents enjoy participating in our weekly gentle exercise class. Our classes are tailored to our resident’s needs. We undertake an exercise class a minimum of once a week. This helps us to keep moving, keep fit and it also enhances our mood and overall wellbeing. Our classes are always enjoyed by all!
National Chocolate Cake Day
Residents at South Grange celebrated National Chocolate Cake Day by making delicious chocolate cupcakes. Whilst the cakes were cooking away they put their minds to the test with a quiz about cooking and baking. Everyone was delighted to tuck into their cakes with the afternoon cuppas!
