Activities at South Grange Care Home

Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can.

Life at South Grange Care Home

Pamper Afternoon

Here at South Grange our nail bar has been busy with our ladies getting their nails looked after. Leah, one of our young residents from Seven Arches enjoyed her pamper afternoon.

Gardening Club

Residents spent time in the garden potting their choice of seeds. Residents shared their knowledge and gardening experience with each other to decide where to place them in the garden, when and who was going to water them and how many times per week.

Oomph live fun

Residents enjoyed joining the virtual live golden classics with Alan this week. Our lounge was full of singing and dancing all afternoon accompanied by well-deserved refreshments and homemade fresh cakes from our chef. It was agreed that residents had much better dance moves than our activities team, thankfully they were willing to teach us a few moves.

A breath of fresh air

Residents took advantage of the warmer weather and with the sun shine enjoyed a breath of fresh air and a walk in the garden before settling back for a cup of tea and a slice of homemade cake.  Maureen said “it’s wonderful to be out in the garden”.

Easter hunt

Residents at South Grange enjoyed teaming up with a staff members to ‘hunt the rabbits’ which had been hidden around the home. Residents enjoyed scrambling around to find the words which the rabbits were hiding. Four lucky residents were each awarded prizes at the homes Easter awards ceremony. Everyone enjoyed hot cross buns and a delicious selection of chocolates for their efforts. Residents enjoyed everyone helping each other to complete the hunt.

Old Blue Eyes

Residents and staff took part in a quiz and sing-a-along to remember Old Blue Eyes. The afternoon went very well as Frank Sinatra seemed to be a lot of the ladies heart throb. They knew all his songs and did well in the quiz!
