Activities at South Grange Care Home
Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can.

Life at South Grange Care Home
Floristry demo with Blooming Haus
Staff and residents at Barchester’s South Grange care home in Monifieth were treated to an interactive virtual floristry masterclass courtesy of Master Florist, Michal Kowalski, from Blooming Haus.
Blooming Haus started with a small pop-up shop in Chelsea. They have since blossomed spectacularly on to the floristry scene as ‘floral engineers’, carving themselves an outstanding reputation as one of the UK’s most innovative floral design studios. The company is the vision of Master Florist, Michal Kowalski and his business partner, Michael Dariane. The pair bring a completely fresh approach to floristry and their ambition to push the boundaries of traditional floristry has laid the foundations of Blooming Haus’ success to date.
Bee-rilliant day for World Bee Day
What a bee-rilliant day we all had at South Grange in Monifieth, marking World Bee Day and learning more about the importance of bees to food production and the environment. Our residents got involved in different creative activities during the day, from planting bee-friendly plants in the garden and making bee houses to producing colourful paintings of bees.
In the afternoon, we enjoyed a little honey tasting session and explored some healthy cooking recipes with honey. It was a lovely day, which brought a lot of smiles and laughter into our home.
Home deliver activity packs to local community
Community engagement is important to the residents and staff at South Grange and they were delighted to be able to share goody bags filled with activities from quizzes to puzzles to, Scott and his wife, Fee who is a Minister at the homes local church. They will be sharing to members of their congregation to help combat social isolation. The home are looking forward to the time when they can welcome them to the home to join them for their events.
