Activities at Southgate Beaumont Care Community

Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Life at Southgate Beaumont Care Community

The power of musical reminiscence

Musical reminiscence has always been so powerful, so it was lovely to dance our way into the weekend, enjoying a trip down memory lane with Colin Fenn.

Colin has a lovely gentle nature and plays a wonderful selection of music from across the decades. He also puts us through our musical knowledge with his informative quiz.

One resident told me how lovely it was to remember times gone by and that his music had provoked some special memories.

We look forward to seeing him again next month.

Exceptionally talented group Canario perform.

On a beautiful sunny afternoon , we were treated to such a stunning performance from the exceptionally talented ladies that make up the group Canario.

Named after the Canary, this trio plays some beautiful compositions and both the cello and the violin that they play, date all the way back to the 17th century.

The girls took us on a journey through history with their music and it really was a privilege to watch their performance.

The girls like to wear yellow as an ode to their favourite bird!

Children from Crescendo School of Music and Art perform at Southgate Beaumont.

Residents and guests at Southgate Beaumont enjoyed an afternoon of fantastic live music performances that took place at the home. Local Children from Crescendo School of Music and Art performed a selection of classic pieces including pieces by Tchaikovsky and Pescetti.

tutor children in the comfort of their own home and give them the opportunity to gain confidence in performing in front of an audience.

Residents joined in clapping along and some were moved to tears as the students played their solo pieces. The children’s loved ones also came along to watch and it was an inspiring and emotional afternoon for all.

General Manager, Beatrice Godfrey said, “Our residents and guests had a wonderful time watching the wonderful performers. We do our best to provide a wide range of activities and entertainment as part of the lifestyle enrichment programme for residents, and this was one of our favourites. It is always a special time when the children come to play for us!”

A stunning afternoon of music with one of our favourite Cellists.

Angel has been playing the Cello since he was 4 years old and today brought his magical mix of his own compositions and some favourite classics into the home.

Residents seemed so captivated by his playing and they really didn’t want the concert to end.

One resident told me that if Angel meant heavenly, then it certainly was.

Its national Fish and Chips day!

Its national Fish and Chips day!

Staff and residents at Southgate Beaumont had a fantastic time celebrating National Fish & Chip Day today. Some might say one of the best days of the year!

Our chef Daniel whipped up an amazing beer batter along with some home-made tartare sauce and minted peas. Absolutely delicious.

We enjoyed the sunshine in the garden, the lovely view from our beautiful dining room and toasted the chef with a glass of wine.

Celebrating Senior Health and Fitness Day with the Tottenham Hotspur foundation.

To celebrate Senior Health and Fitness Day we were delighted to invite the Tottenham Hotspur foundation back into our home.

This time we were treated to a whole array of objects from Enfield Museum, which encouraged wonderful storytelling and reminiscence. From ration books to an old Tottenham programme which charged £5 a year to be a season ticket holder!
