Activities at The Spires Care Home
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.
Angie Smith
Hi, my name is Angie and I am an activities coordinator here at The Spires. We all know that keeping active is important. We have created a wonderful culture within the home and we work together to give residents the best possible experience. We are here to ensure that residents enjoy an environment that is both stimulating and socially active.
We ensure the team knows each residents' preferences, so that we can deliver a person-centered program of events and activities. Essential to our homely feel is the strong relationships of trust we build with residents and their families and friends.

Life at The Spires Care Home
Cricket Club
Residents enjoyed the summer sun whilst watching Lichfield win the 20/20 Chauntry Cup at our local Lichfield cricket ground. The Spires sponsored the event & the cricket club have given an open invitation for residents to go there every Saturday during cricket season to watch the games.
Tea with the Legion
We enjoyed an afternoon tea with some lovely members and volunteers from the British Legion.
Tea Time
We enjoyed afternoon tea in the courtyard with members of Lichfield's St Chad's Rotarians Club, who enjoyed a tour of the home and some delicious homemade cakes and sandwiches.
The Blessing of The Spires
We named our ground floor 'Cathedral View' & Memory Lane Community 'St Chad’s' in honour of Lichfield Cathedral. Pat Hawkins had a tour of The Spires, met some of the residents then said prayers & blessed our home.
Afternoon Tea
We invited the Lichfield Townswomen’s Guild along for afternoon tea. The ladies were delightful company and enjoyed the sunshine in our courtyard and the tasty homemade sandwiches, cakes, scones and cream.
VIP Opening
Staff and guests were delighted when two local heroes officially opened The Spires by unveiling a plaque on 11th July.
The Lord Lieutenant and the Mayor greeted residents and guests before revealing the plaque, formally opening the home. Invited guests were treated to refreshments as they enjoyed entertainment during their tours, including performances from a live choir and a harpist.
