Activities at Stamford Bridge Beaumont Care Home

The activity team within our home spend a lot of time committing themselves to organising a range of activities for residents. This includes, pet therapy, trips out to local places of interest, visits from entertainers and musicians, bingo, one to one pamper time, weekly quizzes, coffee mornings, arts and crafts and baking. Activities are considered to be a crucial aspect of our home as residents look forward to upcoming events. As a result, it is essential that our team work together with dedication, to ensure residents are entertained and involved in as many activities as possible.

Michael Lythgoe

Activities Lead

I have worked in the care sector for 36 years, initially working for the NHS at Brandesburton Hospital as a care assistant. When the hospital closed I transferred to Townend Court and continued as a care assistant on the forensic ward for people with a learning disability. It was whilst working with the Occupational therapists at Townend that I discovered my passion for engaging the patients in activities of their choosing, I’m quite artistic and creative so it was an easy transition

I have many years’ experience working with the older generation and those who live with dementia, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s and other diagnosis’.

I am really looking forward to bring both my experience and passion to my new role and to see the positive impact on our resident population.

Life at Stamford Bridge Beaumont Care Home

Our Baking Sessions

Our Baking Sessions

Here at the Beaumont, we really enjoy our baking sessions, especially through the winter months. We had a great session recently, where we made and decorated some yummy Valentine's cookies. They tasted so good and we had a really lovely chat about what we used to bake with our mums when we were younger.

Pets at Home

Pets at Home

We had a visit from the lovely Sarah from Pets at Home. She brought in 2 very cute guinea pigs and we all enjoyed cuddles from these fabulous little creatures.

Birds of Prey

Birds of Prey

We had a very special visit from the Birds of Prey centre recently. They came in and brought some lovely owls with them who were very cute. We also learned some really interesting facts about them. Thank you for coming to visit us!

Fruit Tasting

Fruit Tasting

We had a lovely afternoon in our home recently. We prepared some different fruits and delivered them around our home for residents to try. This was a huge success; everyone really enjoyed the different flavours and a few commented on how sweet and nice the fresh pineapple was. We will have to try this again as it went down so well.

Sax Quartet Visit the Beaumont

Sax Quartet Visit the Beaumont

We had a lovely visit from the Sax Quartet this month. They came into our home and played some fabulous music; residents really enjoyed listening to them. One of the ladies remembered how she was very good friends with a sax player and she used to go and watch him play.
