Activities at Stamford Bridge Beaumont Care Home
The activity team within our home spend a lot of time committing themselves to organising a range of activities for residents. This includes, pet therapy, trips out to local places of interest, visits from entertainers and musicians, bingo, one to one pamper time, weekly quizzes, coffee mornings, arts and crafts and baking. Activities are considered to be a crucial aspect of our home as residents look forward to upcoming events. As a result, it is essential that our team work together with dedication, to ensure residents are entertained and involved in as many activities as possible.
Michael Lythgoe
I have worked in the care sector for 36 years, initially working for the NHS at Brandesburton Hospital as a care assistant. When the hospital closed I transferred to Townend Court and continued as a care assistant on the forensic ward for people with a learning disability. It was whilst working with the Occupational therapists at Townend that I discovered my passion for engaging the patients in activities of their choosing, I’m quite artistic and creative so it was an easy transition
I have many years’ experience working with the older generation and those who live with dementia, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s and other diagnosis’.
I am really looking forward to bring both my experience and passion to my new role and to see the positive impact on our resident population.

Life at Stamford Bridge Beaumont Care Home
Christmas Fair
We held our Christmas fair here at the Beaumont. Everyone had such a fabulous afternoon; our stalls had some lovely items for sale and we managed to raise over £200 towards our residents' fund. The kids enjoyed writing letters to Santa and also doing some and arts and crafts. A special thank you to everyone who supported it and made it such a fabulous day, and for putting yourselves out on your day off to support us.
Singalong with Jo Sparks
Last week, we had a fab visit with Jo Sparks. Jo came and sang some lovely songs from the past, and residents really enjoyed singing along with her. We also did lots of exercise to the music and had a really fun time.
Joe and His Owls
We had a fantastic visit from Joe and his wonderful owls recently. Joe brought in some of his owls for residents to have a look at; they were absolutely stunning, and everyone took great pleasure in holding and stroking them - it was a great afternoon.
Remembrance Sunday
We had a lovely morning on Remembrance Sunday. Brian Lawson came to our home and led a beautiful remembrance celebration for residents, relatives and staff in our home, who were all really moved by it. We also want to thank Mathew who came in to do the trumpet call for us. It all went really well; thank you all for coming.
A Visit from Matt Jones
We had a fabulous visit from singer, Matt Jones. He has such a stunning voice and plays the guitar beautifully. Matt sings a wide range of rock and roll songs, and really gets the residents singing along. Thanks for a lovely afternoon, Matt!
Tropical Fish Tank
We would like to say a massive thank you to Sarah from Pets at Home for the tropical fish and tank that she kindly found for us. Residents are getting great pleasure from watching the fish, and the animals seem to have a calming effect on them.
