Activities at Stamford Bridge Beaumont Care Home

The activity team within our home spend a lot of time committing themselves to organising a range of activities for residents. This includes, pet therapy, trips out to local places of interest, visits from entertainers and musicians, bingo, one to one pamper time, weekly quizzes, coffee mornings, arts and crafts and baking. Activities are considered to be a crucial aspect of our home as residents look forward to upcoming events. As a result, it is essential that our team work together with dedication, to ensure residents are entertained and involved in as many activities as possible.

Michael Lythgoe

Activities Lead

I have worked in the care sector for 36 years, initially working for the NHS at Brandesburton Hospital as a care assistant. When the hospital closed I transferred to Townend Court and continued as a care assistant on the forensic ward for people with a learning disability. It was whilst working with the Occupational therapists at Townend that I discovered my passion for engaging the patients in activities of their choosing, I’m quite artistic and creative so it was an easy transition

I have many years’ experience working with the older generation and those who live with dementia, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s and other diagnosis’.

I am really looking forward to bring both my experience and passion to my new role and to see the positive impact on our resident population.

Jo Sparks Visits Stamfordbridge

Jo Sparks Visits Stamfordbridge

We had a fabulous visit from Jo sparks recently. Jo came along and did some fun exercises to music and we had a great laugh singing along to the songs we all knew. Thank you for a lovely visit.

New Year Celebrations

New Year Celebrations

We had a lovely New Year's celebration here at the Beaumont; we got Ian Malcolm to come and sing for us and the kitchen staff provided refreshments along with a glass of the fizzy to help us toast in 2017. We have had a fabulous Christmas here at the Beaumont and the new year celebration just finished it off perfectly. We all would like to wish you a happy new year for 2017.

A Christmas Show

A Christmas Show

This year we booked Tickled Pink to come to the Beaumont to put on a Christmas show for us. We all really enjoyed it and they made us laugh whilst singing some great songs. We have had such a lovely time running up to Christmas, as we usually do. Thanks to everyone who has made it special for residents & relatives, and who has brought some Christmas cheer to our beautiful home. Another big thank you to the staff who go beyond their duties to make Stamford Bridge a great place to live for those we support, including the delicious food that is provided by the kitchen team.

Christmas Carol Celebration

Christmas Carol Celebration

We had a lovely carol concert here at the Beaumont for residents and relatives. Judith, our regular church lady, came and hosted it along with Janet, who played the piano for us. It was so lovely singing Christmas carols that it put us all in the Christmas spirit. We even made our very own choir out of staff and residents and sang 'Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer' to everyone, which was fabulous. We would like to wish everybody a happy Christmas from us all here at the Beaumont.

Christmas Raffle

Christmas Raffle

We held our usual Christmas raffle, where we made a lovely hamper and Cath made us a fabulous decorated Christmas cake which she donated to help raise some money for the resident fund. We raised over £100 from this raffle and I would like to say a massive thanks to Cath for the lovely cake and to everyone who bought tickets and supported the event.

Our Christmas Decorating Competition

Our Christmas Decorating Competition

We held a decorating competition around the home, so that all of our staff and residents could get into the Christmas mood. They decorated their communities and made them look stunning for the festive season, and we invited Gill and Mary from our village to come and choose an overall winner, but it was a hard decision because all the communities looked amazing.

This is just one of the many Christmas decorations that adorned our home.
