Activities at Station Court Care Home
Activities make up the most important part of all our days, and at Station Court we ensure there are a variety of social events that reflect the individual interests and capabilities of people we support. All group and individual activities are designed to not only mentally and physically stimulate the people we care for, but to enhance their life skills and feelings of purpose and self worth. All of our team are committed to supporting a full activities programme within the home.
Carly Chesney
Hi, my name is Carly and I am the homes Activities Coordinator. I joined the home in 2011. I am passionate about our enhancing our residents daily life and delivering a person centred life enrichment activity programme is very important to me to ensure that our residents continue to lead fulfilling lives doing things that they want to and enjoy. Our programme is varied from excursions out on the mini bus ensuring our residents are connected to their local community, hosting events here in the home, virtual events and themed days – no day is the same!
Read our brochure 'Life-enriching activities' for more information about life in our care homes.

Life at Station Court Care Home
Comic Relief
Station Court was filled with laughter and the colour red for comic relief. Residents, staff and family member came together singing and dancing to songs through the years including comic relief famous hits performed by live entertainer Chris Gilly. Staff members raised some dough in a comic relief bake off, giving our resident and volunteer judges tricky decisions to make when choosing tastiest, sweetest, most creative and don’t forget the day job awards and crowning Mandy our domestic assistant the winner with her red chocolate fudge cake!
Nutrition and Hydration Week
Residents, staff and visitors at Station Court had great fun taking part in the global initiative, Nutrition and Hydration week this month hosting a different themed event each day of the week. Nutrition and Hydration week has taken place annually since 2012 with the purpose of bringing people together highlighting and educating the importance of good nutrition and hydration and how we can all take simple steps to improve our wellbeing.
Mother's Day Afternoon Tea
All our mothers at Station Court had a fabulous day filled with pampering, love and affection.
It was lovely having our home filled with children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren on Mothering Sunday and extra special to host our Mother’s day high tea event with our nearest and dearest joining us for scrumptious food and the bubble flowing as we toast to all our wonderful mothers.
London Ladies
As part of our International Women’s Day celebrations, Residents from across our services were thrilled to join tour guide, Mandy Morrow, for an exciting talk about some Legendary London Ladies.
Mandy shared the fascinating stories of eight ladies with us, from the one of the richest heiresses in the world to the original 'Roaring Girl'.
Everyone who participated truly enjoyed the experience and were delighted to take a walk down memory lane.
Bingo Bonanza
Across the country our homes and hospitals came together to find out which care home or hospital had the best Bingo players as we teamed up for Barchester’s Bingo Bonanza.
Residents were treated to some exciting virtual games of Bingo as part of Barchester’ very own game show series.
Everyone who participate had a fantastic time and enjoyed some friendly competition.
Love is in the air for Valentine’s at Station Court
Residents, staff and visitors had a fabulous time at our love and friendship dance with live entertainment from the lovely Michaela from Musical Memories performing love ballads to have us all singing along, dancing and feeling the love together.
Our happy couples in the home celebrated the day of love together at our dance and dine event with live entertainment from smooth and swing entertainer Andy McGowan performing love songs, before our couples enjoyed a wine and dine experience with a 3 course meal prepared by our head chef and toasting with bubbly while sharing memories and their heart-warming love stories with staff.
