Our qualified and dedicated activities staff plan and implement all activities within the home. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can. We try to keep our residents active and happy.
Our activities include trips to garden centres, pubs, the cinema or the local theatre. We have many fun games like carpet bowls, Play Your Cards Right or armchair exercises. There are many musical events, singalongs, garden parties and tea parties for everyone to enjoy as well!

Life at Tandridge Heights Care Home

Christmas Party Celebrations
Tandridge Heights residents caught the festive spirit early at their respective Christmas party celebrations.
We started off with a bang with our memory floor residents who enjoyed being serenaded by the hugely talented Andy Mace. There was singing and dancing galore alongside a lovely buffet prepared by our head chef Mel.
Resident Bill said ‘I have had the best night, I didn’t think I could dance anymore so it was lovely to have a turn around the floor with Kerry (Activities assistant)’. Performer Andy remembered resident Mena from a previous visit so she was delighted to have a personal song sung to her and a dance with Andy. Mena said ‘Andy is the best, I have had a great time and do not want the night to end!'
The party continued the next night for residents on Woodland Way. Mel and her elves worked their magic again and residents and families were delighted to listen to a performance by harpist Mark Levin. Resident Anne-Marie was overjoyed to be joined by her Children, Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren.
She said, ‘I am so lucky to be here and still be able to have all my family join, thank you!’
Resident Kitty said, ‘what a great night, the music and food were fantastic with amazing company, what a triumph’.

Sinatra Came to Visit
Residents at Tandridge Heights were delighted to welcome Ol' Blue Eyes for a festive sing along.
Paul from Sugartown Productions spent the afternoon as Frank Sinatra and performed a fabulous Christmas singalong for our residents.
Mary, a resident at Tandridge Heights was completely star struck and said "What an amazing afternoon, you would think that Sinatra himself was in the room singing to us!"
December marks Frank Sinatra's Birthday and what better way to celebrate than reminiscing and singing along to Sinatra's classics.

Oxted School Visit
Tandridge Heights really got into the Christmas spirit by visiting Oxted School for their Christmas Celebrations!
Residents and staff had a brilliant time meeting Santa, enjoying the lunch that the school provided and singing along with the schools choir to traditional Christmas carols.
General Manager, Camille Corbett said: “We absolutely love being able to take our residents out and about to visit local schools and community gatherings, it makes us all so happy to experience Christmas events like this. It has been a fantastic day and we’ve all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.”
Philomena, resident at Tandridge Heights said: “We have all had the most wonderful time visiting Oxted School again this year. How lovely to be able to visit places like this and enjoy the atmosphere, it has made us all feel so Christmassy!”

Owl Visit
Today we welcomed Ryan from Owl Adventures who brought some beautiful birds of prey with him!
Our residents found the creatures fascinating, they all had the opportunity to hold the different birds whilst Ryan told us all facts and information about them.
Mary, a resident at Tandridge Heights said, "that was one of the best things I have ever done, I think the birds are amazing!"

Tandridge Heights honour the fallen!
We welcomed Rob from the Royal British Legion who gave a talk about why we mark this historic day. Resident Neil who is 102 served in World War Two as a veterinary surgeon in the Royal Veterinary Corps and has been a member of the British Legion for many years, was delighted to meet Rob and reminisce over the time he has spent with the Legion.
Residents across all floors watched the Remembrance Parade on Sunday as the King laid the wreath at the Cenotaph and joined in the staff for the two minutes silence. Neil then took part in the Oxted Remembrance Day Parade, leaving a wreath at the memorial at Master Park.
Aiden from Biggin Hill Airport Museum then joined us on Monday for an insightful talk and display on the role of the service men and women that were stationed at Biggin Hill at the height of the Battle of Britain. Navy Veteran Ron and former Wren Marjorie who are residents at Tandridge Heights spoke to us and shared photos of their experiences in the services and their life through the war years.
We thank everybody for their service, lest we forget.

The festival of Lights
Residents and team members at Tandridge Heights have had an amazing time getting involved with the celebration of The festival of Lights.
Team members told residents how they celebrate Diwali with their loved ones and why it is so special to them, we learnt of all the beautiful traditions. We then had some delicious food tasting, followed by team members performing traditional Odissi dancing.
