Activities at Tandridge Heights Care Home

Our qualified and dedicated activities staff plan and implement all activities within the home. We try our best to arrange activities that reflect our residents interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can. We try to keep our residents active and happy.

Our activities include trips to garden centres, pubs, the cinema or the local theatre. We have many fun games like carpet bowls, Play Your Cards Right or armchair exercises. There are many musical events, singalongs, garden parties and tea parties for everyone to enjoy as well!

Fiona’s Therapy Farm

Residents at Tandridge Heights had a great time meeting and greeting the animals from Fiona’s Therapy Farm. The staff brought along chickens, guinea pigs, rabbits, ducks and baby lambs that were only two weeks old.

Residents has the opportunity to hold and stroke the animals. The rabbits and the guinea pigs had a good stroke and brush as they were so fluffy. As we know babies are always hungry so residents and guests had the opportunity to bottle feed the lambs. Resident Fiona said “I love animals and I have never bottle feed one, so this has been amazing” Resident Cynthia who lived and worked on a farm said “It’s just like being at home”

Lunch with a view

Today residents at Tandridge Heights enjoyed a trip to Bottley Hill Farmhouse for lunch.

It was a little overcast and windy but we did not let this put us off. Resident Mena could not wait to have a nice cold coke and a cheese burger. Freda said the local sausages we really scrumptious. The conversation flowed with us all talking about or previous careers and employment and places we have visited. Kitty made us all a little jealous with her tales of going up in a hot air balloon.

All the residents were in awe of the fabulous views on offer and said they would love to return on a clear day so they could see even further.

Pub lunch

During a recent get together the residents began talking about where they used to enjoy going for a meal locally. Sally, Hugh’s wife told us how they used to go to the Bletchingly Arms and that Hugh loves the burgers. With this in mind we all set off for the Bletchingly Arms on a sunny Wednesday. Meals were soon decided on along with a tipple of choice. Fish and chips was a firm favourite and we all could not believe the size of Hugh’s burger. The conversation flowed with current debates along with a lot of reminiscence . Alan regaled us with lovely stories from when he went to Football with his daughter. We all enjoyed our food and Hugh even managed a pudding.
