Activities at Tennyson Wharf Care Home
Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.
Rebecca Harrowing
Hi my name is Rebecca, I started working at Tennyson Wharf in July 2024.
Previous to starting at Tennyson Wharf I have lived in many countries and worked as a supply teacher and administrator in Bahrain in the Middle East - I have also worked in scouting programme groups in both the USA and UK.
Whilst I have worked with children for a lot of my life, working with the elderly is always been something I have been passionate about. I believe that everybody has a story to tell and our residents life stories all add value to Tennyson Wharf.
Outside of work I enjoy walking, gardening and going to the cinema.

Life at Tennyson Wharf Care Home
Magic Table
At Tennyson Wharf, we have introduced a Magic Table offering opportunities for those living with dementia to increase physical and social interactions and, most of all, have fun. The Magic Table is an interactive light projector designed to support residents living with dementia and is proven to help staff promote stimulation through specialised games. The colourful light projections respond to hand and arm movements, enabling residents to play with the light itself, increasing both movement and stimulation.
Raising a Glass
Residents at Tennyson Wharf raised a glass to say thank you to Morrison's for their kind donations for World Food Day. There were plenty of nibbles and champagne for all.
Community Engagement at Morrison's
A big thank you to Morrison's in Lincoln, who kindly allowed Tennyson Wharf to hand out goody bags to their customers. They also donated a nice hamper to us which was much appreciated. Community engagement at its best!
Excercise Class
101 year old Beatrice enjoyed her weekly exercise class at Tennyson Wharf. A great way to help stimulate the mind and body.
National Grandparents Day
While we honor our grandparents every day, grandchildrren of our residents sent in photos of themselves. A token gesture during tough times to appreciate all the joy and wisdom that grandparents bring to our lives.
Games Table
Residents were enjoying the new Air Hockey table in the bar area at Tennyson Wharf. A great way to engage in some healthy competition with one another, whilst putting their hand eye coordination to the test.
