Activities at Tennyson Wharf Care Home
Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.
Rebecca Harrowing
Hi my name is Rebecca, I started working at Tennyson Wharf in July 2024.
Previous to starting at Tennyson Wharf I have lived in many countries and worked as a supply teacher and administrator in Bahrain in the Middle East - I have also worked in scouting programme groups in both the USA and UK.
Whilst I have worked with children for a lot of my life, working with the elderly is always been something I have been passionate about. I believe that everybody has a story to tell and our residents life stories all add value to Tennyson Wharf.
Outside of work I enjoy walking, gardening and going to the cinema.

Enjoying the Weather
Residents have been loving the recent hot weather; they've been playing games and socialising with Carers in our beautiful outdoor space.
Preparing for Barchester in Bloom
Karen and residents tended to our garden in preparation for the Barchester in Bloom competition. They are working very hard to make the garden even more beautiful and accessible for all to enjoy.
The Eldertainers
We were entertained by ‘The Eldertainers’ recently; all residents thoroughly enjoyed the singing and dancing - and meeting the lovable dog, Shep!

Calling all emergency services personnel - police, ambulance and fire services, district nurses - come and take a break on us, there maybe a cake or two available....
