Activities at Tewkesbury Fields Care Home
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.
Paula Lourenco
Hello, my name is Paula and I’m the Activities coordinator at Tewkesbury Fields care home. I’ve joined Barchester healthcare in 2020.
As part of the lifestyle enrichment team, I will be organising daily activities, ensuring that residents have varied activities to choose from each day. I love enriching our residents’ lives, creating memories and be able to provide meaningful activities to each one of the residents living at Tewkesbury fields.
Read our brochure 'Life-enriching activities' for more information about life in our care homes.

Gardening Club
This afternoon, after watering the sunflowers and other plants during our gardening club, some of our residents enjoyed a walk in our gardens checking out on the potatoes and strawberries that we planted months ago.
We are very proud of our work and how healthy they look! We even had the chance to pick and taste the 2 first strawberries
Celebrating 104 Years old in style
Celebrating 104 years old in style
Yesterday we were absolutely delighted to celebrate Marion's 104th birthday.
Friends from Bredon W.I. visited in the morning for a coffee and share memories together, from when Marion was President.
This afternoon we've welcomed Emma from Mini Concerts for the party and celebrate Marion's big day with family, more friends and staff at Tewkesbury Fields. And what a party!
One of Marion's friends surprised everyone by presenting a what we believe to be 99 years old tambourine that Marion used to play when dancing at a young age. It has been very well looked after and it will now be kept in the family.
Happy 104th birthday Marion!
Animal Therapy
Today was all about animal therapy activity.
We've welcomed Jenny from Wren’s Birds of Prey with three beautiful birds that residents and staff got to learn more about and hold if they wished to.
Thank you Jenny so much for the lovely time that our residents had.
Africa Day
Saturday was a fabulous afternoon for residents, families and also the staff at Tewkesbury Fields Care Home as we celebrated another country and cultures.
To celebrate Africa day, we invited Liz and Devinder from In2Cultures to bring the sounds of Africa.
The beat of the drums got us dancing, mainly our lovely team who are from South Africa did such a fantastic dancing demonstration and singing. Well done ladies. Residents truly enjoyed seeing you dancing!
Birthday Girl -103
Today we all got together to celebrate Elena's 103rd birthday and what a fabulous party we had.
Elena was joined by family, residents, staff members and relatives.
Elena was absolutely thrilled by the the kindness of how many people joined in to celebrate the day with her!
Thanks to Thea from Mini Concerts for the fantastic performance! It was a great entertainment for the event that got us dancing and singing! And to the chef who baked a delicious cake that went down very well with a glass of Prosecco.
Happy birthday Elena!
Celebrating Big Birthdays!
Today we've had a very interesting morning with the special visit from some children from the local Eldersfield Primary school.
As two of our residents, Elena and Marion are reaching their 103rd and 104th birthdays very soon, we've challenged the children to look for facts over the 100 years and then visit and present these to them.
The children very kindly prepared two booklets for Elena and Marion and presented them during their visit.
And how interesting they've made these booklets as they found Eldersfield Primary school diary notes from 1920 and 1921 Wow.
We also shared some interesting facts that we've been getting together for a display, talked about hobbies shared stories and got to meet each other a little more.
It was a lovely morning, thank you all for coming!
