Activities at Tewkesbury Fields Care Home

Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Paula Lourenco

Activities Coordinator

Hello, my name is Paula and I’m the Activities coordinator at Tewkesbury Fields care home. I’ve joined Barchester healthcare in 2020.

As part of the lifestyle enrichment team, I will be organising daily activities, ensuring that residents have varied activities to choose from each day. I love enriching our residents’ lives, creating memories and be able to provide meaningful activities to each one of the residents living at Tewkesbury fields.

Activities and Events Partnerships

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Afternoon at the Garden Centre

We do enjoy visiting our local Garden Centre and seeing all the wonderful plants and having time to browse around their gift shop.

We always take time to stop for a relaxing chat and coffee.

"Singing In The Rain" At the Cinema

We still love watching a good movie - and last week we had a trip out to the local theatre. The Roses Theatre, is very much the heart of the community in Tewkesbury and we were delighted to go and watch the classic film "Singing in the Rain". We all sang and toe tapped along to this friendly morning screening at a wonderful venue.

Knit and Natter in the Community

Residents had a lovely morning at Bushley Village Hall attending the" Knit n' Natter group".We enjoyed having a chat with the local ladies in the community and see their knitting and craft projects. As always, we were welcomed with delicious refreshments and great company. We look forward to the next meetings and craft events.

Embracing Peace through Art

During this week, we've welcomed Megan from Roses Theatre, Tewkesbury to learn about the Peace Doves project that will take place at Tewkesbury Abbey very soon. Residents and staff wrote on paper doves, each capturing personal messages/reflections on what peace means to them. These beautiful doves will soon join thousands of others in the stunning Peace Doves exhibition at Tewkesbury Abbey - an event showcasing the power of art and community.
